We stayed here for one night before a birding trip in Baja California Sur. 

The B&B occupies a good setting in a large courtyard with a swimming pool and communal kitchen with help-yourself offerings of fruit, bread and spreads etc. It's about 15 minutes walk from the marina.

The owner was very friendly and helpful and there's a good atmosphere about the place with friendly long-staying guests. 

There are some well-behaved dogs around.

Our room was pleasant with a fridge, fan, air con, chest of drawers and plenty of surfacer space for belongings. The shower temperature was difficult to control and ran hot and cold, but the flow was reasonable.

Unfortunately, we left too early in the morning to sample the legendary muffins and were sorry too, to have missed out on a cuppa from the impressive-looking coffee machine!

We enjoyed our short stay here and would recommend it.

Good setting and nice atmosphere

Not our first time...won't be our last.  Can not say enough about this place or Milt and Sue who run it.  This is where all the cool people stay.  Writers, sailors, Wanderers, it's a very interesting spot   A perfect mix of friends, family and "others".  Sue makes great granola and sometimes muffins in the morning and Milt will educate and entertain.  Don't go if you're not a laid-back traveler.  I don't ever want this to change.

More than a BandB

We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was nice with a comfortable king bed, a kitchenette and a patio. The shower was good, wifi was good as well. We appreciated the different breakfast options - had yummy muffins one day and homemade granola. It was close to the Malecon (although we did drive there rather than walk). The property is surrounded by a wall and felt very safe and comfortable.

Friendly and mellow B&B

Excellent family owned hotel. Very friendly and family friendly. Great parking. Safe. Rooms are adequate with multiple options. Great restaurants in the area and especially the fish place. Got a huge popo cocktail that was excellent. Hotel has a pool.

Just stayed at the Casa Buena B & B for a short overnight stopover in La Paz.

For the record, I virtually never post reviews, good or bad, although I've been fortunate to travel the world extensively for the past twenty years or so. Yet, paradoxically, I still read those reviews and, like many others, use them before selecting what might work best for my needs. Since there is already an over-abundance of opinions out there, never felt that mine should make any difference but I was still compelled to write something after just only one night, in order to describe what folks should (or shouldn't expect) from the Casa Buena.

In a nutshell, this B&B is centrally located, away from the "action" and/or noise of the touristy area (i.e. the "Malecon" or seaside drive and boardwalk, where one will find bars, restaurants, etc.) just only about 15 minutes away on foot, in a nice and safe neighborhood with a very large supermarket about 8 minutes away and convenience stores also close by.

The facility consists of a very large, fully enclosed, secured and gated compound with remote-controlled access for vehicles and guests. There are 13 different rooms of various sizes and configurations, with A/C, overhead fans, king, queen etc. type beds, located either on the first or second floor within close proximity to the parking area.

The rooms are simply furnished but have all that may be needed, furniture and cleanliness-wise. There are no TVs but great WIFI and, for those addicted to the tube, guests should be comforted to know that there is a giant screen TV in the communal restaurant-like and fully equipped kitchen located in a huge central "palapa" or palm-leaf covered structure where one can cook, chill and have breakfast (included) with fruit, fresh-baked muffins, coffee, cereal etc., literally a few steps away, and where you van mingle with fellow travelers in a congenial atmosphere.

Are there cons to staying there?
Don't really think so, unless you dislike dogs and since there are already three wonderful chocolate labs that come with the furniture (no worries, they won't invade your room unless you invite them to), pet owners should know that their furry creatures are always welcome!

Overall Impression
Although I didn't have a chance to meet the proprietor's wife SuSu, who was away during my stay, Milton who greeted and showed me around upon arrival made it clear that if there is a special place in La Paz that I will come back to, without any hesitation, Casa Buena is the one, thanks to its genuine hospitality, the kindness, amiability and good vibes that I experienced. 

As another reviewer noted, the only reason for not staying there would be if they hung a "No Vacancy" sign, in which case he'd have to re-schedule his visit.

Great Place, Cool Vibe and Milton is a Wonderful Owner!

We have stayed at Casa Buena for a winter getaway for a couple of years now. Just finishing up year 2. We had a great time again. The wifi is so hot you have to glue the computer to the table. Milton and Susu have a nice place here. They are very accommodating to our needs. My wife is a piano player and she gets to work out daily in the chapel on a piano. They have an interdenominational service every Sunday. We eat the limes off the trees. They are great with Guyaba juice. There is a major grocery store just 3 blocks away. This seems to be the go to place for cruisers who want to spend a night on shore.

Wonderful place

My wife and I enjoyed staying at the Casabuena Bed and Breakfast. The owners are very friendly and the room are clean. I especially liked the liked the homemade granola for breakfast. Breakfast was a great time to talk to other guests as well as employees.

Nice Bed and Breakfast

Quant and cozy B&B. Excellent host, homemade muffins and granola daily. Clean and very friendly atmosphere. Great location near the Marina and walking distance to local restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay here again.

“Just Do It”

We were greeted at the gate by a couple of lovely Labrador Retrievers. That was all it took for us to fall in love with Casabuena B&B. We needed a dog friendly accommodation, and this was clearly it, as friendly dogs are allowed to roam free in the walled in enclosure. Milton and Susu (the proprietors) and their two children have made this old colonial dwelling into a welcoming home away from home. Very quiet for its proximity to the Malecon (Saturday night was noisy but a pair of earplugs did the trick). We took an upstairs room with a kitchen, private bath, and balcony, which looked out over a lovely courtyard. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere, but for charm, cleanliness, helpfulness, and amenities both on and off site, this little gem is hard to beat--especially for the price. We look forward to returning year after year.

A welcoming home away from home

I can't say enough great things about Casabuena! Our family of 16 stayed there for 10 days for Christmas and New Years and we had the most amazing time. The owners, Milton and Susu, are so friendly and accommodating. We loved getting to know them and their children, Arthur and Michele. The B&B was in a perfect location because it was close to town and the Malecon! Milton got us in touch with an amazing group of women who cooked meals for us and they too were amazing. The rooms are not fancy, but they are perfect! The palapa was such a great gathering spot for our family. Thank you Milton and Susu... We will most definitely be back!
