Almost all the units are pool front and beachfront. Large apartments with kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The living and dining is outside facing the sea; very very comfortable.  The property is older but everything works.  The daily round for the residents here seems to revolve around total relaxation!  Grocery shopping and other essentials are a few blocks away on the main road.  There is also a weekly flea market there.  Buses run every few minutes and will take you to the large stores like WalMart for a bigger shop.  These same buses will go all the way downtown, around the container terminal and to the heart of the city on the waterfront.  As a day trip, this is worth the 7 pesos!  Forget the taxi, local buses are much more fun.

A relaxing old property!

My parents started coming to Casablanca in 1984 for two months a year.  It has not changed at all since then, except for a bit of paint.  Casablanca is RIGHT on the beach, and the surf will be your soundtrack while you are here.  The apartments are functional, which is fine as you will be spending your days on the beach or on the patio under the palapa.  My choice apartment is literally ON the beach--those behind it are only a few yards back.
since the mid-80s, my family has left a few boxes and items here from year to year. The staff is extraordinary that they allow us to do that and keep our things intact (an electric tea kettle, and a boogie board are the most important).
I love this place.  It is authentic. The surf and beach are delightful.  You can walk for hours in one direction...The staff will help you navigate where to get groceries, and/or dinner.  We love our daily walk into town to buy our food.
If you don't want to be left to discover the REal Mexico, don't come here.  Casablanca is a lovely vehicle to help you navigate from El Norte a Mexico.  Plus there is now Wi-Fi!!  Don't forget to got to Taco Julios... even though it has migrated down toward Manzanillo.
This is a lovely place.  I highly recommend it.  Just ask to use La Senors Ellison's boogie boards.

The Real Mexico

I love Casa Blanca.  It is an older facility but kept up pretty well.  The staff is exceptionally nice and trustworthy.  The owner tries to make you experience very nice.  The beach is literally right there and the town and buses are only two blocks away.  This is a very convenient location to many things.  There are tons of restaurants including small local "on the sidewalk" ones and nice sit down restaurants.  There is a local laundry which will wash and fold your clothes fairly inexpensively.  (Ask for Susie's.) Taxis are cheap and available and buses run up and down the street.  A little Spanish is helpful.  A phone with a translation app is best.  There are so many sights to see.  An internet search is helpful but talking to the locals, taxi drivers or the hotel owner is best.  Taxis can be hired by the day for touring and the cost split among the occupants.  (EVERYONE knows Jorge Flores and he is the BEST taxi driver and tourist guide.  Jorge is worth his weight in gold and his English is excellent.)  Nice buses travel to other nearby towns.  I love Casablanca. Get up early and walk to the end of the block for the Saturday market.  Everyone should experience this.  Be prepared for a little rain during the winter.

Stayed 4 weeks in the winter

Not a bad place to stay, comfy, clean and friendly staff.  I found the beds were a little hard but we spoke to the front desk and they swapped it out for us.  I did find the sound of the pounding surf was a little much for me, my partner had no issue with it but it was a little too loud for me.  Pretty, great view from the second level room that we had.

Our stay at Casablanca Alamar in Manzanillo

This was our first visit to Casablanca Alamar and it is a nice hotel. It is right on the beach with a lovely view.  It is located just off the main business street of the Santiago area.  Our room was nice and very clean. The staff was also excellent and very helpful.  It had a full kitchen which was great,  we never really made meals we took advantage of the great local food carts and restaurants in the area. The pool and patio area was great.  I would recommend the staying here to my friends and family.
