The hotel is nice and place really good. We spent the week of dia de los muertos there, and the staff was so helpful and nice with us! Always there to advise us, and help us when we had doubts, or taxi to book or else! I don’t know about the prices of hotel in Oaxaca but I would definitely recommend this one for the staff and the nice terrasse! 

Really nice hotel and staff 

It's a small hotel, very clean and well located, nothing luxurious but had a great stay, ye price is fair and the attention from the owners couldn't be better. they help you with everything, advices, transportation, they really make a god travel experience in Oaxaca, rooms are small, hace their private rooms and the beds feel a little short, other than that it a good deal, and they even include a tipical cuisine breakfast, only trouble is to get early at the restaurant cause it's crowded and you don't wanna waste too much time waiting. I would definitly recomend it and would like to come again

Excellent choice and top attention from the owners

Staff was super friendly and helpful. They spoke great English and provided amazing customer service! The breakfast was delicious and had many options to choose from and was freshly cooked. The rooms are cozy and the bed is very comfortable. The hotel is very clean and water bottles are provided in the room everyday. The location was also great! Next to the mercados and a few minutes from Zocalo. I highly recommend!!!!!

Excellent! Highly recommend!

This hotel has great owners, involved and engaged. The beds and pillows need to be replaced, as they are lumpy and old. The WiFi is extremely intermittent. The location is in the 'local' part of town, which means whilst you may feel safe, you would not feel comfortable in the area. Very close to the Mercado Benito Juarez markets, and to the Zocalo. Would recommend staying on the other (northern) side of the Zocalo, and potentially the locals are more welcoming from what we experienced. This hotel is very warm and inviting, beautifully clean, but unfortunately it is on the wrong side of town. If the beds and linens were updated, it would be worth the price.

Clean but not a good location

Hotel Florida, while not in a particularly attractive area of town, is an older style, simple, clean, mostly quiet hotel within easy walking distance to the main square (Zocalo) and markets.   It is well run and very safe.  The owners, who speak English, are helpful and the daily breakfast, which is included in the nightly price, is excellent.  The room we stayed in was basic but clean and spacious enough.

The shower, like many in Mexico, is designed so that water does tend to flow out and around the toilet and sink area.  Fortunately, house cleaning is daily so that is dealt with.  We had problems with the hot water (little or none) several times during our stay which we brought to the attention of the owners.  It was dealt with right away but the problem seemed to persist off and on.  Beds are hard which we did get used to.  Towels are very thin and worn and pillows are small and lumpy, and both of these items need to be replaced.

After our departure from Oaxaca and our subsequent return a week or so later, we were surprised to find a much superior, updated hotel in a beautiful, quiet area of town behind the Santo Domingo Church.....for quite a bit less money!   Though we would recommend the Hotel Florida for a few nights, we wouldn't recommend it for a long term stay.
