I love México, I had a plan to visit Oaxaca and I should need find a Hotel very close to the downtown, because I love walk while are traveling to enjoy all the place.
In this hotel I did find peace, quiet and closeness.

Good.! 

By the way, You will need live the Guelaguetza´s experiencie!!

Cheap and good

Location location location, I conducted a Photo Tour for the day of the dead festivities and I really wanted a hotel right within walking distance of everything downtown Oaxaca has to offer, I wanted to keep the cost down but frankly this was the only hotel available that could offer me 7 rooms 6 months in advance. It was clean, spartan and at a fantastic price, around the corner from the Santo Domingo Plaza! Silvio Leon and his staff were very nice and gave us great advice. and took good care of our late arrivals and very early departure times to the airport securing taxis. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are many around and you'll find reforma street your home in Oaxaca, Highly recommended is the PAN: AM bakery and cafe around the corner and several restaurants across the street.
If you need a fancy room to be able to sleep there are many other hotels but if you like to have a private clean room at a very low price and later eat like a king and then come back home with a big smile and a suitcase full of beautiful oaxacan crafts and mezcal  with all the money you saved, well,  this is the place for you.

Awesome location and Perfect for the frugal savvy traveler.

This place is an absolute value for money. It is in a great location very close to centro. The rooms are spacious, clean and has a functional wifi. The common space is well decorated. Bathroom had hot water. The attendant (and other staffs) were very nice. No one speaks English, and i do not know Spanish at all, but it was not a problem, we communicated fine. I also checked in very late (past midnight) and checked out early (around 5am), again no problem at all. All in all, above expectation in every sense.

Great value, no frills

This hotel is perfect!

The owner usually mans the front desk and is extremely friendly and helpful. I really appreciated his tips and advice in navigating the city. 

Also attached is a restaurant and really neat bar called Matlacihua - playing hard rock music and where Alejandro will answer any questions you have about his fantastic mezcal selection.

The hotel has everything you need without the frills. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops start across the street at a hidden food hall and Santo Domingo is less then a few minutes walk away. 

Only downside: no hot water!

If your priorities are location and price

Not a bad hotel in general, very central location, lot of eating options all around but if you have a car, it is a pain because in Oaxaca city center is almost not possible to park your car during a day. The hotel can be really noisy if you have a room with a "courtyard view"  and your "neighbors" are talking during the night and both of you have an open window...

If there is a parking, it would be a great budget option

If you like savings but you want to be where the action is, this is the hotel for you in Oaxaca. The location is few steps from une of the main squares. Do not expect glamour, great views or elegant decoration but the rooms are enough large and most of them have 2 queen beds and out of the door the city center is just there for you!

Little cheap hotel not glamorous but in the best location and absolutely affordable

this is not a hotel and may not even be an Hostel.  The photos are skewed, the rooms are dirty, the staff refuses to discuss with guests, the mentioned amenities are non-existent, the noise of the bar located next door is infernal, a table of the dining room full fresh birds flocks !!  we arrived and left running!
