THEY turned off the wifi the two nights we stayed, when I asked them in the morning, they said they always turned it off. They asked me to leave it on because I work at a computer and they said NO that they always are. No one opened the garage. My husband had to go down to open it in the rain. The light went out all night long. They didn't lend a flashlight. There was no water from 6pm until 11am the next day!!! Nor did we wash our teeth. In the morning, we realized that they also turned it off on purpose!!! The ROTO window button, anyone could have put it on. They had a plant, but when it went they didn't have to turn it on either, so they didn't turn on the water for the room's electrician.

It's all bad.

My opinion is about the camping area! the nature you observe is fabulous! you have some amazing views! the staff is attentive and when you get to the reception you are asked to follow a motorcycle to a parking but you go over a terrace street and there comes the moment when cars crash, there are too many rocks and soil! definitely a small car will not come up! you get off your car (if it got to the parking lot) and now follow a light walk of about 250 meters. when you get to the camping area, you can see cows and horses grazing, unfortunately there are poops of those animals doing all over the area. unfortunately there is an impossible activity with so much pop in the pasture. finally, the bathrooms! three small wooden stations, I think that there is no need to get into the area, but I think that the area offers a lot of poop!

A nice, but filthy camping area!

We started the day with the planned 5km race, reviewed the route, thought there was a mistake because of the distance but... we continued with the destination. We arrived prepared for a race and were told that it was indeed Rancho Viejo but in Temascaltepec and the old Rancho we were looking for was in the Marquesa.

A great confusion.

They said they had heating in the rooms but what we found was just one little heater, not enough for the cold temperatures at night (as the location is located deep within the forest). 

We had to leave the hotel in the middle of the night as we coudn't get warm enough to sleep. Of course, there was no refund. Better to stay somewhere in Valle de Valle or Avandaro, much better places to stay there at same price.

Stay away from this "resort"

After driving for 7 hours to get to the place we attended for the first time, the shift manager told us that the manager wasn't there, told us that we couldn't enter food, we apologized for never being told that when booking, we asked for a solution we ignored and I showed us the regulations pointing out where they said we could run if we didn't obey, well this well didn't give us any solution, the customer if he could sell me a few soft drinks and beers told me that yes, wait 10 minutes and come back without saying anything, ask him again and he told me that I wouldn't sell them because then I would make a fire and meat sour, bad service, nothing recommended.

A bad day.

The service in the hotel is quite poor.Only by watching and listening to the manager can you deduce how the service will be for the rest of the staff.The rooms are less than basic, full of insects and in the restaurant you can wait patiently an hour to receive... some synchronized ones!

The worst service ever.

The traveler's expectations depend largely on his prior knowledge of the place he will visit or the hotel he will stay in. Rancho Viejo fully meets the descriptions that appear on his website. It is located in the middle of a beautiful pine forest, about 2600 meters above sea level. The road to get there takes you through small picturesque villages and spectacular landscapes. We arrived with a day's anticipation, by my own mistake, and yet we were greeted with all kindness and promptness, despite the fact that there had been a torrential rain and no electricity for a while. The place is very beautiful for those who enjoy nature and the forest. The gardens are well cared and generally all observed. The bedrooms are in a more than two-bedroom, but there is nothing more to do than to spend a few minutes with a good wood-frame cabin, but there is nothing more to do than to make a living.

Thankful surprise.

I went with my family to spend a weekend, a great place to unplug everything, a very rich restaurant food, lots of activities for the kids!

An excellent place to get away from the city for a few days.

The place is a nice quiet location with not much to do other than play golf. Rooms are very simple, nothing fancy. Food is good. Service is OK but not great. Temperature of water on shower was really hot at the beginning and 2 minutes later really cold. Thermostat wasn't working correctly. Although they offer wifi, signal was very weak and intermittent.
One staff member stood out from the rest. Daniel who's a waiter at the big restaurant.

Weekend

Rancho Viejo and a place in the middle of the green. You can not only play golf but there is a heated indoor swimming pool and many courses for adults and children to stay with the family and have fun with everyone. The cabanias (the rooms) are all scattered around the golf course in the middle of the forest. They are all very welcoming and cute. Family management makes the kitchen great and at km 0, not only the cheeses made by the same family who owns the facility. And a trip to nature, near other places as touristic as Valle de Bravo, the Monarca butterfly sanctuary and Mexico City. Great for those who want to do without technology and urbanity!
