Super disappointing experience at this bar tonight and it's a shame because I've been here many times before and really like this bar. Usually it is a good atmosphere. But the bartender here tonight was really bizarrely rude and I couldn't figure out why.

A group of 6 of us came in. We all ordered drinks. I ordered a beer for myself and one of my friends. I handed her 100 pesos for the 90 peso tab and left the change as tip. When I ordered my second drink I noticed I had a lot of difficulty getting her attention and she didn't seem to be looking at me or even actively avoiding making eye contact. Having tried to get her attention many times, I was able to speak loud enough to get her attention when she came to get the order of someone near to me. I was shocked when she practically THREW my change back at me. Well, that was bizarre....am I imagining things? I couldn't imagine what I might have done that would cause her to be so rude so I shrugged it off. 

One of the 6 people in our party was not drinking. Everyone else ordered more than one drink and I know them to be considerate people and people who tip.  I was SHOCKED again when the bartender approached the man in our party who wasn't drinking and asked if she could get him anything. She interrrupted his conversation -- basically tapped him on the shoulder while I was talking to him!!!! Meanwhile, when I'd actually WANTED to buy a drink, she wouldn't even make eye contact or look in our direction!!!! He thanked her and said no he didn't and resumed the conversation. At which point, she loudly screamed at him, "I'M TALKING TO YOU." He turned back to the bar and politely said, "I heard you, thank you. I'm good."

Later, one of my friends approached us at the bar trying to get a drink and same deal, she said the bartender had been actively avoiding her and getting drinks had been very difficult. Lo and behold, my friend wanted a drink and now the bartender was ignoring us again. My friend tried on several occasions to get her attention and it was clear she was actively avoiding us. She wasn't far away so I did raise my voice to yell, "Can my friend get a Victoria?!" Now it was on. She SCREAMS back at me, "Will you please wait your turn?????!!!" So I told her exactly how rude she was and we left the bar.

To be clear, this was the blonde bartender (wearing red on the Mexican independence day shift) and not the dark-haired woman behind the bar. 

I can only gather that this bartender was upset that one in our group occupied a bar seat when he was not drinking but there are much better and more civil ways to handle the situation. He was with 5 people who all WERE drinking. I also have no idea why this bartender decided to be so disgusting to me and my friend who politely ordered drinks and tipped her just because we were associated with someone else at the bar who wasn't drinking? The other thing we thought was that she might not have liked us because we are white.

Anyway, this bartender was completely rude and really spoiled what should have been a fun night out for no reason. I'd love to recommend this spot and return but unfortunately, not with this woman behind the bar.

Horribly rude bartender

Great little unassuming place, very comfortable, great drinks and service! Jorges even found my Raptors game on the tv! Great music too! We spent lots of time there, next door there’s a nice little taco joint. Casual and friendly, good if you’re in a group. Great place to meet up for happy hour or after dinner drinks!

Great bar!

This place has, I am sure,  been a lovely attractive little hotel once, but no more. It need a real refurbishment/upgrade. The rooms are small, some with no AC and are very  basic. It has a lovely courtyard with great potential for so much more.

A tired place

This quaint dive bar has all the hallmarks of any classic one: ice cold and inexpensive beer, a tequila shot plus beer special for 100 pesos, tremendous service, interesting clientele, and a happy vibe to the place. It's a great place to duck in and have a couple beers to cool off while exploring downtown Playa. The bartender is a great guy. It's next door to Cochi-loca, so you can get a few delicious cochinita tacos and eat them at the bar.

Best dive bar in playa

Love This sweet cozy bar right in the heart of PDC. Stop by for some Good beer and Good company and always great laugh. This is the place to make new friends. Very cheap prizes, Good staff, Nice owners. Is just close to a Good taco place and youre more then welcome to eat inside the bar

Cozy place

This is a great little bar. The locals come and it is a lot of fun to discuss the community, people and the local Rotary Club Initiatives. The service is always great, cheap bar prices and you can order food from the surrounding restaurants. The days that we were there Dany looked after us.....she is great. Many Tks.

BAR NIRVANA

Excellent atmosphere,  drinks cold and inexpensive, the two girls that work there also quick and friendly , hotel is more like a hostel but dogs are accepted so go for a beer with your best friends, you can buy a bottle of spirit and if you dont finish it (strange) but they will keep it for you till next visit and free mixers with it 

Cheap drinks and good location 

I was there last night and a person that works there called gaby started taking pictures of me and i dont know what to think now, is this that she is with some people that kidnap persons or that she wants to do something bad to me. I hope that the person in charge take matter in hand because i like the bar but with that Kind Of people i dont Want to come back, it was very unpleasant.
