Aldea Thai was an amazing stay! I would recommend staying at this hotel to anyone I met. It felt like a peaceful sanctuary. We stayed at an Airbnb'd unit there and appreciated how spacious the unit was. The building layout really blocked any noise from the street (being nicely located a few blocks off of the main 5th ave strip) and the beach. The pool with a swim up bar was great, we had fantastic empanadas for dinner one night, and things were well priced (450pesos or $30USD for 12). The staff kept communal areas very clean, removing tracked in sand. My group of 4 college girls were pleasantly surprised by how calm the pool and shared spaces felt seeing as we came for a relaxing Spring Break and not a loud party atmosphere. The pool plays music but not aggressively and you could easily lounge on chairs or in the water, we napped a bit too so the music wasn't a problem. The building was accessible as well with several elevators and some small steepish ramps. The location was great too, being a 5 min walk to the beach by Mamitas Beach Club (which did bump the music starting in the early afternoon, so get there earlier in the day if you want a quiet beach morning). Getting to the beach around 9am ensured we got a good spot without paying for a chair. Had a great time, and glad we found Aldea Thai.

Fantastic, spacious, and relaxing stay at Aldea Thai!!

We rented a condo from Playa Moments. The Check in was easy and communication was timely. Condo was clean, it needed some tlc but wasn't my job to fix it, so it was easy to overlook and enjoy my time.

  Aldea Thai is a great complex, Common areas are well kept and clean.
Location is good, 1/2 block from Aldea Thai's entrance is Playa Mamitas beach. And on either side are two of the best beach clubs. Mamitas beach club and Coralina's Daylight club. On the same block you have a 7-11, Oxxo, El Patio restaurant, Freshy Fish, Subway, and 2 massage places. Two blocks away is Quinta Avenida(5th Ave). with all of it's dining and shopping options.

The swim up bar is run by El Patio restaurant across the street, serving great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Pizza, Milanesa(chicken or beef),and the must try Empanadas ( Criolla, Chipotle Chicken, and Northern meats) We had all of these options and everything was delicious.
At the swim up bar you will find Pablo. Who takes your food order runs around the pool down the front stairs and across the street to El Patio and back with a smile on his face and a "no problem it's my job attitude". While still being our go to Guy for Info on PDC, my very patient spanish tutor, who even let our 18yo niece be DJ for a couple of hours much to the displeasure of some of the other guests I'm sure, lol.          I can't express how much Pablo added to our enjoyment of this complex.

Booked via booking.com but our review is not published for some reason. 

upon arrival Gerard told us that there needs to be talked about payment since they do not accept creditcards.  The information on Booking.com is wrong and we were forced to pay in a different way. 

We rented the penthouse with private pool but the place is in so many ways broken and not looked after.  Broken fridge/microwave/hairdryer/door/....  There is mould in 1 of the bathrooms.  The airco is so loud it is impossible to sleep, .....   

My photos won't upload so I can't show you in what bad shape the place is for the price you are paying.  

But I would not recommend this place. If you want to book anyways, I do hope you have better experience than we had.

Very bad experience

Hotel was in super Bad condition
Fan / bathtube / lights / toilet flush not working. After they repaired those things, 50% of them still not working.
They also  try to scam you with fines for stuff you didn’t do. Fe every friend which comes to the room gets a wristband. If you don’t return it it’s 10$ each. They cashed 70$ for wristbands we returned for sure. We told them to watch the cameras but they said they are not working. They also made us feel bad for bringing friends to our penthouse. So much better and cheaper hotels around here, just never go there

Hotel in Bad condition / employees try to scam

We booked a great 2 bedroom, pool level condo, for a very reasonable price on Airbnb. We booked this for a week and didn't have any major issues. The staff at the front desk weren't exactly the most helpful and the staff at the pool bar was hit or miss. Most of that didn't matter because through the booking we had access to Ricardo, our concierge. He took care of anything that we needed including  laundry service at a very reasonable price as there was no laundry available on site. Aldea Thai is in a great location and its very easy to get to 5th Ave, etc. right out of the front entrance.

We had a great experience via Airbnb booking.

Let me first start by saying that I have been coming to Mexico for 30 years and have pretty much seen it all.  I understand that customer service is pretty much relegated to the majority of US hotels here.  Anything operated locally is hit or miss.  This is an apartment complex and not a hotel so keep this in mind.  No on-site restaurants or normal services that you would find in a normal hotel.

I used Booking.com to find an Ocean View Jr Suite at Aldea Thai.  When I arrived, I was told there are no rooms.  Wonderful.  The guy, Gerardo,  who was representing this rental put me in a larger 1 BR room for the night.   No problem.  After all, this should be standard policy.  I am given until 1pm next day to change rooms.  He comes knocking on my door and gives me the key to the new room, which I had not yet seen.  He asks for my key for the current room I am in.  A bit unusual, but I give it to him.   Now I understand why he asked for it.  The new room is not an Ocean View room at all.  It is a view Internal to the hotel of some fountain.   I go to the "front desk".  They push the issue back to Gerardo and give me his number.  I attempt to call call reach Gerardo on Whatsapp but he is nowhere to be found. 

I normally do not gripe about things, but ignoring a legitimate customer service issue is just bad service.

I also put the blame on booking.com for advertising a room with certain features that was unavailable. 

On a positive note, the place is about 50 meters from the beach and centrally located.

Classic Bait and Switch

Placed a reservation end of December before the covid travel restrictions took place in January. I called to cancel after couple weeks of my reservation and am now being told no refunds even though there is no cancellation policy when you book your trip!! Complete rip-off!!!! DO NOT BOOK with Don Rosics or Samson Waters Vacation Rentals!!!

Do not rent Don Rosics

Don is very unprofessional. When we arrived to the condo, it was not what we were lead to believe. He then blocked me so I was unable to communicate with him regarding my concerns. I strongly recommend not booking with him. We were unable to use one bathroom, the bathroom sink in the other bathroom was broken, along with mold around it, sheets had yellow / brown spots on them. The burning hot rooftop pool burned our skin and burned the polish off my toes. The people selling drugs also follow you up to your room. I have tons of pictures I would be happy to share with anyone. I am not one to leave bad reviews but since he was so unprofessional and blocked me, I am unable to communicate with him like an adult/ business owner. I want to warn others NOT to book any of his condos. We actually left after and hour of being in the condo and had to pay for a new place to stay. * do not believe a word he says and take note to the pics / videos he sends you. They are all the same and very deceiving.• we actually met a couple in Playa that had the same experience with him. 

Do not rent from Don Rosics 

We stayed here for a weekend in a studio we booked through Airbnb.  Check in was quick and pleasant and valet parking was nice too.  The location is great, right on the beach and just a block from La Quinta Avenida but at the quieter end so no problems with noise bars etc.  No noise from other guests either.  Pool was really nice with swim up bar, no probs with loungers or umbrellas when we were there.  Small discount at Kool Beach Club if you want the beach.

It served our purpose for this visit but now that we have the lie of the land for PdC we might stay elsewhere on our next visit.
