I spent 3 nights in this hotel. 
The hotel has a real Mexican atmosphere!
The hotel is located near the center of Puerto Escondido in a quiet place. Although I ordered a different room - I received a room of a higher class, with a balcony and a view of the ocean. 
The room was clean, cleaned regularly. The pool was also clean. 
The staff does not speak English, but thanks to google translator you can communicate :) 
Be careful when paying with a card on the spot - 2 times it interrupted transactions, and then it turned out that from the account the money was taken 2 times, but never reached the hotel account.
Here a very big plus for the service, which showed all their transactions in the bank account - so my bank quickly and positively processed the complaint.

It's a very comfortable hotel at a very affordable price with the best location in Playa del Carmen, as it's on Fifth Avenue, the clean rooms, a small but enough pool to stay an afternoon, a good deal.

A budget hotel and very comfortable.

It was my fourth time in Puerto Escondido, although they are already building some great hotels that I think touch the coastline, it is still the fantastic authentically Mexican town where lovers of heat, ocean, lagoon boat rides, wildlife and sports/excursions, not just surfing, can enjoy a good holiday. Fortunately, with the Hotel El Tucán en TripAdvisor just before traveling, we decided to go for the excellent references about the service and Mrs. Lolita. We were a lady in all the quality of the word and we felt the warmth of Mexico together with her family, hopefully we had spent days because it was like being at home. Excellent Mexican style and for all the hotel, light and joy. We were given a room with an incredible view of the surrounding area, but the lowest temperature of the resort, which we had to enjoy, and we were able to enjoy a great deal of leisure, even though we were able to enjoy a good day's work in the hotel.

The hotel is charming and the staff is top-notch. The rooms are comfortable and clean. And the pool is more than pleasant. The hotel is not too far from the main street but we took taxis to the beaches (20/30 pesos).

El Hotel is located in the main bay and is very comfortable with a pool, wifi, cable TV chapoteadero and comfortable facilities. enjoy the beautiful view of its terrace while reading a book My Woman is very satisfied with the warm service of its hosts.

Professor Lolita, thank you so much for hosting my family and me on their property, a clean, well-located place, a swimming pool for kids and adults with a very striking decoration.

It's a very nice place.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at El Tucan, and the family that runs it is great! I reserved thru booking.com and ended up needing to extend our stay one night which was easy to do by emailing directly with the señora Lolita. She was very responsive to email and since I'm based in the US I ended up sending my deposit easily enough thru Western Union. The hotel itself has beautiful tiling and is very clean with new soaps given daily. Ask for a beach facing room and you even get your own little balcony. No AC but with the ceiling fan and a cold shower before bed we were fine. We loved the location as you could easily walk to the best beaches (15 min stroll from Manzanillo or Carrizalillo) and the adoquin market and restaurants in the evening. I would definitely return!

Simple sweet hotel with great location

I highly recommend it! The dressing rooms are colourful and bright, a swimming pool, the rooms are clean and spacious, the prices are very affordable and the reception is family friendly, we got answers to all the questions we asked, I was there with a group of young people (I am the manager of the club) and everyone really enjoyed this hotel.

Comfortable hotel and family hospitality

We were a group of 5 people staying at the hotel for 3 days and we all loved it! The location is great, half way between la playa principal and la playa manzanillo (5 minutes walking for each beach) and so also very close to the main street where you can find all kind of bars, restaurants and shops. Lolita and her family are very nice people. They helped us multiple times to organize our various excursions around Puerto Escondido. Note that the restaurant is close during the low season.
