This place must have been amazing before as the "bones" are amazing.  Victor will do anything he can for you.
    But since it is being torn down for a condo before the end of the year the new owners are putting absolutely nothing back into the property 
   Based upon their lack of concern for this property I would never consider purchasing anything from them.
   Best recommendations is to stay away

Do not bother

We had stayed at Villa 5 yrs prior and it was lovely.  Great hotel, wonderful breakfast, engaging staff, clean, all you could want.  We returned expecting the same, it is now an absolute dump. Everything has gone by the wayside. We couldn’t stand the rancid, mildew smell of the room, I was afraid of sleeping there for one night.  The next morning we walked down the beach and found another accommodation which was wonderful.  We lost all the money we had paid, we could not stay there another day.  I could list the problems from linens, dirty, dusty rooms, rusty pitted furnishings, nothing in the am for coffee, I didn’t want to touch anything! Please take this advice and stay away 

Do not stay here

This was the absolute worse hotel we stayed at!
We booked for 7 nights but checked out after one night to fulfill their cancellation policy. 10 days later we still have not received a refund from the hotel or booking.com. The booking site said it was a TOP RATED hotel and obviously they did not do their due diligence before listing this hotel. Do not believe the reviews on their site! It is unkempt, not maintained, not appealing and WAY overpriced. 
You can do much better!

The bedding was dinghy with stained pillowcase and sheets. It was a very uncomfortable night for us. Dead bugs were on the floor and shower. The very stained curtains did not completely close - luckily we had a bag clip we used to close them a bit. 

The shower pressure was almost nonexistent. The bathroom fixtures were pitted and ugly. The dresser had rough bare wood drawers that fell out when pulled open. 

The plant on our deck was dead and flowers in the lobby were wilted and sad. The furniture in the lobby was ugly and ripped. 

There was no mini fridge and instead we were invited to put our drinks 
in the communal fridge where anyone could have access to our drinks. There was a moldy taco in the fridge. 

The breakfast was a joke! A few pastries that had seen better days and cut fruit that didn’t appear to be fresh. There was coffee available at about 9:15 in the morning. No eggs as mentioned in a previous review. 

The pool area was nice but due to maintenance 
of chlorine levels being uncertain- we did not have confidence  go in the water. 

The hotel was close to the beach and the view and sunset 
from our room was nice. 

At one time this hotel must have been lovely - beautiful mosaics- but now it is 
 old and tired and decrepit. Do not book here

Terrible experience!

Went to Rincon in February 2019 and stayed at Corona Del Mar. We had the Big Bungalo at the rear of the property, 2 Bedrooms with KING beds, full kitchen, and washroom. A short walk to the Pool; very nice. The resort itself is quiet and relaxing. Met Many nice people also staying there also. The Breakfasts were very good prepared every morning. 
The location is so good, across the street from the beach. There was umbrellas and chairs you could use and walk across the street, Thats it, so convenient.
Manager Victor and his Staff were wonderful. 
There was many restaurants that were a short walk down the beach, food was so Good, and the hockey game was even on the TV a few times as we ate. Beautiful sunsets, and a very nice Place to visit. 
40 peso taxi ride to the resort from anywhere in Guayabitos. 
Grocery stores in Rincon also had pretty much anything we needed, like snacks, sandwich meat, fresh bread, and Cervesa too. 
Had a Great Holiday and we will be back.

Great Place for Vacation

For our family, the location at the less busy end of the beach was perfect.  Ten metres from the entrance and we were sharing that section of the beach with 0-6 other people.  

The time we went was very busy and due to a cancellation we got the better of the 2 smaller bungalows.  No ocean view but you could hear it,  and our room was only a few steps from the pool -  with a full sized fridge within a small kitchen.  Handy for refreshments after your 6 yr old goes to sleep.

The pool was one of the best looking we saw in the area, and was seldom occupied in this small, 12 unit hotel as Mexican tourists come to the beach to hang out on the beach.  Most importantly for me there was lots of shade in the pool area from the nearby trees.

The common areas of the hotel were very nicely decorated, breezy and inviting.  Also enjoyable were the local wildlife in the garden. Iguanas, geckos, a family of possums cut through one night and a startling but amusing Lineated Woodpecker knocked on the window one day.

The fairly basic free breakfast was of good quality. Even though there were surprisingly no flies in the outdoor breakfast area, I appreciated the covered containers for all the fruits, ceral, yogurt, baked goods in case one showed up.  You can always get just eggs if the Mexican offering of the day doesn't appeal.
All the staff were lovely but Victor the manager was fantastic, very friendly and helpful.  And our daughter fell in love with his young french bulldog.  

The walk to the center of Guayabitos is a pleasant 20-30 minute stroll along the beach (less time if you don't have a dawdling six year old with you).  Highly recommend this property as a mid-range option for families.

Great location, great service

My wife and I spent eight days in an ocean view room, maybe the best view in all of Nayarit.  I was impressed with the very spacious common areas, two swimming pools, very quiet location, on site management and more.  Victor was extremely helpful and friendly with good english speaking skills.  The ladies who prepared and served breakfast are delightful.  The property is nicely landscaped and maintained with the beach directly across the street.  We will surely return.

Villa Corona del Mar is nicely situated after the busy hotel zone in the residential zone, but an easy walk to restaurants.  Taxis come quickly and are very inexpensive in Guayabitos if you wish to go into town.  Our ocean view room with balcony was a quiet place to relax.  We did hear the ocean waves, especially when the surf was high.  We didn't need the a/c and only used the ceiling fan occasionally.  The room was a good size, bright with a comfortable king sized bed and chairs.  The bathroom is small, but adequate.  Daily cleaning is provided.  A few maintenance items should be attended to in the slower season, but did not diminish the enjoyment of our week's stay.   

The grounds are well kept by the gardener, Ramon.  The pleasing pool's temperature was cool, and the area was uncrowded with sufficient loungers, tables and umbrellas.  We liked sitting quietly, reading or watching the birds and iguanas after our swim.

The capable and pleasant manager, Victor Lopez answered our questions, made suggestions, ordered taxis and provided anything else we needed.  

The daily breakfast is cooked by Ana and served pleasantly by Rubi and Blanca.  Coffee is excellent, local and organic.   We purchased some from the roaster in the next town of La Penita. There is plenty of fresh fruit each day. Tip: If you do not want the main dish offered, just ask for scrambled or fried eggs.  

The conveniences for guests were used by us.  A large fridge, water dispensers with hot and cold water, common areas and WiFi made it easy to stay a week.  

Knowing that we needed to bring beach towels in advance was not an issue.  This is not a big hotel and the staff are doing laundry all the time just to keep the bed linen and towels clean.  

At first, we thought it was going to be an issue not having beach loungers on the sand, but after walking the beach, stopping for lunch or a cold drink, we were happy to relax by the pool or on our balcony where we wouldn't be interrupted by vendors.  

The beach is nice, long enough for a walk, shared by tourists, long stay visitors and local families. 

Laundry services are available in Rincon de Guayabitos and La Penita.  The bus can be taken from Guayabitos to other towns further on the coast.  The weekly markets mostly had tourist souvenirs, not many appear to be made locally.

Our week's stay at Villa Corona del Mar flew by and  was  a nice alternative from a big resort area.  What made it special were all the kind people we met, whether at the hotel, the taxi drivers, servers in the restaurants or people in the town.

Love this place the decor ,the location ,the staff ,the room ,the view ,the quiet pool and grounds,the breakfast.the price!!this is the best hotel if you like quiet but access to restaurants in guaybitos and la pinita
