Awesome service ! The great staff make you feel like you are part of their family, Jaime at breakfast time., sweet & kind , Larry the Bellboy very helpful until the end of our stay went out of his way to make us feel very confortable Blanca with a great knowledge. This guys are the best !

Highly recommend! Close to everything you need. Clean, clean clean and very quaint. The staff are hospitable. It's very affordable. The beds are a little hard but everything else makes up for it. They have ice available for your drinks and beer for sale. FYI, they sell their beer at restaurant prices $25 pesos.

I'd stay there again!



Everything about this place is GREAT!

We three middle aged British guys are nearing the end of our fortnight in Mexico, travelling up to SB from Puerto Vallarta slowly and returning quickly via Tepic. 

We booked HPdR on Bg.c a couple of days in advance. We arrived on a (Palm) Sunday afternoon to find a pleasant hotel outside the centre in quiet streets. 

The friendly proprietress allocated us to the ground floor room 9 ('Natalia') which was through a double door which included an outer mosquito mesh door.

There was a double and a single bed (both clean and firm) with reading lights above each and a bedside table between them with an electric socket. 

By the shower room was a small cupboard, a chair and only one set of hooks for draping clothes over, it could have done with more hooks as there were no clothes hangers overall there was not enough places to put it hang three peoples' belongings and clothes do some stuff went on the floor (albeit clean).

The cupboard had a jug (fillable  from big water dispenser by kitchen), two glasses and two plastic cups (for use by the pool) with an electric point next to it. As usual despite being three of us booked in advance into a twin room there were two of everything, which was OK and no doubt we could have asked for another glass or towel.

There was a nice set of leather wicker chairs and tables directly outside the door, in the pretty verdant courtyard surrounding the nearby central pool, with a fan overhead but no working light.

Inside was an AirCon unit and a 28 inch LED TV on the wall above the dressing table which had basic ('moderate' as they describe outside) channels but no English; even CNN was in Spanish.

The shower-room was clean and had hot water, toiletries, a hand towel, mirror with bright light above for shaving. The water pressure was fine for jetting out razors.

Overall everything was clean and working, quite a luxury for us but we were paying more than usual Mx1100/£42.31. The next night was further into Semana Santa and was Mx1300/£50. We moved to the cheaper and far more basic Hotel Marino Inn for the Tuesday night as HPdR was way above our budget by then. One of the friendly staff (on hearing we were staying a second night) asked if we needed the room cleaned so I said no, only one towel required. On our return the evening of our second night we found the rooms made up again which was nice but not called for (by us anyway) although technically we were paying a higher price the second night. 

We discovered the pleasant roof terrace on the second day and watched the sunset with beers from the small beer shop 150m west along the road. There were upvc loungers and chairs up there as well as a sink, bar/kitchen type area and toilets.

The swimming pool was much appreciated by us as were the loungers. They were the most reliable place to get the intermittent internet access via the wifi (despite the router being on a column near our room). I did not appreciate the two smoking guys flicking their ciggy butts in the pool! I informed the proprietress who hopefully challenged them. It seems the norm for litter to be thrown to the sides of the streets in the countryside. Plastic is becoming more of a problem not nowadays.

During the day and night there was an occasional loudish humming noise and vibration sounding like a refrigerator pump, AirCon or water pump somewhere in the block. Ear plugs did not stop it but it was not very annoying.

We found a big spider in the shower room bin on the second evening which we took outside into the courtyard to reduce the mosquito populations (the odd one flew around the darker areas of the courtyard on the day even).

Intermittent wifi in evening so very annoying as trying to upload TA reviews, sync devices and update on Social Media. The transmitter were on and signals strong but no internet access so probably a town wide problem although we got better access elsewhere in town at other times so I have no idea where the problem lies.

The reception area had a kitchenette with a large fridge freezer for guests' use and an area with help yourself coffee using the water bottles with hot water dispensers. A microwave and sink were available. The friendly staff maintained the area. No milk or tea was available though, only creamer, so bring your own.

Overall a very pleasant place to stay. The owners and staff have made an effort to make everything comfortable.



Great value off peak, clean, nice pool, friendly, tranquility spoilt by noisy A/C unit/pump!

stayed 3 nights after Christmas,great location the rooms were clean pool,looked good,nothing really to rave or complain about If you do visit Mexico, San Blas is a must go!There is a great beach close by and plenty of fresh sea food,the town in itsef has its own charm also people are very friendly.I prefer San Blas over The larger beach towns.

It is a beauty plece, but is especial because they organize a departures to the isla del Rey. Isla del Rey is a nice attractive from San Blas, this island is a sacred place for the Wixarika culture because in there finish "la ruta del peyote" and they do some rituals and give animals blood to the Diosa Aramara (sea). The island looks interesting and nice but sometimes the beach looks like brown color because the water is rotous. This place has an importante meaning  inside the cultures and this is interesting for other people, so when the tourist visit the attractive contribute at the town economy

We arrived San Blas late on a Sunday afternoon.  We hadn't yet found a hotel room but it wasn't long before we spotted Posado del Rey.  It's located a short distance away from the town center in a rather run down area.  The hotel itself stands out because it is so well kept.  We were greeted warmly by the lady at the front desk who had a room available for us, room 13 (I think there are fourteen rooms) at a rate of US$55 which includes taxes.  It's located on the second floor overlooking the pool.  The next morning I came to the realization that we were the only guests at the hotel.  There were four of us which made for a tight fit in a room where the two beds took up much of the space.  The room and bathroom were clean but there were areas of mold in the bedroom and bathroom which concerned me. The grounds of the hotel are meticulously maintained.  Staff are constantly going around sweeping.  The pool was clean.  Tables and chairs and lounge chairs are placed in the courtyard area as well as on the roof tops.  There is wifi available around the pool but not in the rooms.  For the price I don't think you could ask for much more.  I would definitely return
