I missed my bus and had the pleasure of staying a single night at Posada Sancris. My misfortune turned into a pleasant surprise. I was greeted by Juan Carlos who is super friendly and even spoke good English and in the morning the exceptionally friendly Ofelia. The rooms are spacious, have high quality furnishings and are filled with light. The highlight was the most comfortable bed I've stayed at in Mexico, even compared to high-end properties. Juan Carlos told me all the mattresses were recently upgraded. Similarly the rooms all have brand new smart TVs that allow streaming and casting from mobile devices...a very handy touch. The location is central yet on a quieter street so you will be able to rest easily and enjoy the home-cooked breakfast in the verdant courtyard in peace. 

Stay here, you won't regret it.

Super comfortable, world-class hospitality

I was planning to stay a few days and ended up staying two months. I had a wonderful time and I'm sure I'll be back.
The rooms are full of light and decorated with taste, the staff very friendly. Not so far from the city center though in a more tranquil part of the town.

Beautiful little hotel! 7 min walk to everything you need in San Cris. Great little room, Juan brought me a heater :) never an issue with the wifi. Hot showers, great breakfast, incredibly clean! Highly recommended!

Great Place! Incredible family!

While you may walk a few extra blocks to the Guadalupe walking street and popular restaurants - Posada San Cris is on a street with a LOT less traffic than most. Rooms are cleaned almost daily and there is a place to sit in the patio. Great beds and cotton sheets!!! 
Order continental breakfast / fruit plate, toasted bread/butter/jam and coffee very reasonably price and for a bit more... eggs and the fresh Chiapan beans. Delicious. Ofelia and Ernesto go out of their way to be helpful. I paid them to drive me and all my stuff to Tuxtla airport.
VERY convenient.

Exceptionally clean and quiet!

Mrs. Offelia is very knowledgeable of the area, our room was spotlessly clean, she is organized and overall a very nice person. She got us great deals on daily tours, would wake up early to prepare us breakfast (everything was delicious) even prepare us coffee to go when we would leave for a tour in the middle of the night. She was very humble and gave us a lot of advice on where to go (depending on what we wanted to do) the only thing I wasn't too happy about is the beds are not that comfortable.

Mrs. Offelia is the best!

There are much better alternatives more conveniently located and better values.  This is well away from the sites and businesses tourists use.  The street is dark and it's not easily found.  The bed and pillows were very hard.  We were watching the news at 10 and were asked to turn the tv off.  When we arrived the room was so cold as all the windows were open at 8pm.  We closed them only to realize why they had them open.  There was a strong sewer smell coming from the bathroom.  They said we'd need to pay extra for the use of a space heater to warm the room.  The breakfast is very light so you need to pay extra to order any kind of protein.

Spotlessly clean, delightful hosts, Offelia & Ernesto, very helpful re booking excursions. Good breakfast, short walk to main pedestrian street - Calle Guadalupe. Water pressure in shower is not good & takes a long time to run through hot.

Delightful stay @ Posada Sancris

We (parents and one teenage child) stayed at Posada San Cris for three nights in August. It's about a 10 minute walk from the top of Guadalupe Victoria, the primary pedestrian sidewalk/street with lots of shops, restaurants and tourists. Our room was extremely clean and roomy. It had been renovated and had fresh paint, curtains and bedspreads. Our room looked over the entry/driveway and had lots of light, but we did notice a room whose window had an internal view and was probably pretty dark. Our room rate included a very basic breakfast of toast, fruit and coffee--nothing to get excited about, but adequate. The couple running Posada Cris were helpful and friendly. Basically, it's one of the nicest places we've stayed in this price range (we paid the equivalent of about thirty US dollars per night). Great bargain.

Very clean, good value

When I told a group of my wife’s friends what I was paying for three nights at Posada Sancris, they laughed. (Perhaps relieved that my wife wouldn’t be accompanying me.) But the low rates were not the only reason that I chose this family run inn. I chose it for it’s close-in location, its reputation for cleanlines—and its homemade bread. And it didn’t disappoint. There were a few quirks: the lamp had no shade, the bathroom sometimes emitted a faint sewage odor at night (common in Mexico). But overall it was a comfortable and affordable (cheap) stay. Seems to me that I had the last laugh.
