The rooms are big but the cleaning is really poor. There is "free wifi" but the internet doesn't work properly. This hotel is really not what you see in the pictures and the location is not really good.

Bad service and no internet

We arrived here because we saw a deal in booking and rooms looked nice in the photos. 

The kid in the reception tried to charge us 550 pesos without breakfast when they have written outside 399 for the room. We payed and the receptionist told us that she would give us our change later and she never did. 

No service of breakfast or lunch or anything. 

The place is super dirty and super dusty. The sheets were also dusty and full of hair. 

They tried to give us a room that smelled terrible. When we complained, they said "that the room was dirty and they had forgotten that room had a check-out and that they haven't clean it yet". We changed and was almost the same. 

The room where we changed had a window to the corridor and the curtains were so thin that everybody could see inside our room. 

Very noisy. There were children screaming all day every single day. 

Rooms not isolated and VERY cold. The don't have heating or air com; nothing. I was freezing. 

Also, the hot water is only from 15h to 23h. 

Never to come back.

San christobal is very busy in August and all the hotel prices are high so hotel posada was especially good value - no frills and maybe a drinking glass in the room would be nice but very comfortable beds, linen and towels - close to calle Guadalupe but much quieter - I'll go there again

Quiet clean and friendly good value for the money

Hotel Posada Las Casas offers box-like slightly musty but clean basic rooms. It is conveniently located one block south of the happening street, Real du Guadalupe.

It is however quite a way from the ADO bus station and as roads and pavements are pretty conjested, expect a good 20-25 minute walk.

No thrills two star hotel

First of all, reserving this place was  somewhat of a nightmare!  I gave them my Bank of America debit card and had to jump through hoops to secure the reservation, including forwarding copies of bank receipts showing that I had paid cash at a local bank for half the cost of the reservation!!  That should have been my first clue.

Other reviews raved about the restaurant and the kitchen facilities available to all guests.  Those reviews must be quite old because the restaurant has been closed for quite some time and the kitchen facilities are also closed.  

Other reviews also raved about how wonderful the owners were.  What owners???  Never saw them nor heard anything about them.  Only a team of rag-tag young kids running he place.

It was cold when we arrived in San Cristobal after a long day of travel and we looked forward to a hot shower and a good nights rest.  There was a sign in he shower advising to let the water run for 5 minutes to get hot water.  After 5+ minutes the water was still cold in both the shower and he sink.  We complained to the front desk and a young man came to h room and advised he had fixed it.  Not!  We complained again and this time a guy came and apologized for the inconvenience and offered to change rooms.  We passed on that idea having already unpacked.  Next day, there was NO WATER at all!  No pressure, no water other than a dribble in the sink, and surely no hat water to be found.  After letting the water run for quite some time later on we managed to each get a shower with minimal water pressure and then back to square one.  We opted for another hotel even after being promised  a discount for the cost of the room.

The font desk contacted their "accountant" who promised a refund within two days.  Just like the water pressure and the hot water, that didn't happen.  It took another call to get the refund and have it transferred to my Mexican bank account.

The room was poorly furnished with a minimalistic outlook on life.  If this place wants to get your business it better clean up their act and provide the services offered in their advertisements.

I can't recommend this place to anyone.
