We arrived and the front desk guy totally ride as if he was making us a favor we wanted ton park our car ad in front of the hotel is a busy street, he said he couldnt tell us were the parking lot was until he found or reservation it took him ten minutes and very rude to my wife also, tbat gave me a bad inpression i told my wife to check the room and nothing to do with the pictures they are small with no light, totally hot with no fans or ac
They smelled of humidity and dirty
We inmediately left the front desk guy just laughing
For the same price we found a much better one with friendly peesonel

Vet bad

My mother and I made a last minute decision to go to San Miguel. She knew nothing about the hotel when we booked it but sometimes the universe gives you a big kiss. The hotel had I think about 6 units. The rooms were casual but very nice. It was always very clean and bottled water was available daily. The courtyard was very cool in the heat of the afternoon. We were located on the second floor and had a fabulous view of the bell tower of the church. There were huge bougainvillea plants that climbed up to the third floor and plenty of patio seating in the common areas. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. They went out of their way to help us out with unexpected items that we needed to get delivered.  The location was perfect. Close to the church and square- shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The very first day my mother and I started saying 'let's go home' at the end of the day. We've never said that about a hotel before.

This is a mid range place close to the centro attractions and we thought it was good value.

Our room was on the top story and had a nice outlook.  It was tidy, clean, and had lots of lighting plus good bedside lights and a luggage area for more than 2 cases .  This is 2 out of the 3 main areas of complaint for me so that is pretty good.  It failed the third having no shelving in the small bathroom.

It is not obvious when you are looking for it, especially if the door is open which obscures the sign that says Hotel.  Look for a sign that says DAVID and it is next door.

There is free Nespresso coffee, the wifi is ok but not speedy, and water is provided each day.  A minus was whimsical hot water but it looked like thay was being looked at.

I  would come back.

  

We had a good deal and good time here. 

I booked 4 rooms for my family back in March. I received an email from the hotel requesting to cancel my reservation. I declined to do so. Shortly thereafter, I received another email saying that my reservation was cancelled. I called booking.com and they told me that the rooms were available to re-book (they said I may have accidentally clicked the link). I booked the rooms a second time. I immediately received another email from the hotel requesting to cancel my reservation. They then cancelled it a second time. The rooms now show as no longer available. I called booking.com and when they spoke to them the hotel claimed that somebody else booked ALL FOUR rooms in the 30 seconds between them canceling my reservation and me trying to re-book. The lady from booking.com believes that they oversold the hotel and I caught the short end of the stick. I just had to pay twice as much as I would have in March for another hotel in the city to get four rooms for my family. When I have tried calling to speak with somebody at the hotel they will not answer.

HORRIBLE - They Cancelled 2 Reservations!!!

I stayed at another hotel for the first part of my visit to the city, but that hotel was booked for the last two nights of my stay, so I had to find another place to stay the last two nights. I wanted to be in walking distance of the main plaza, and cost was a factor, so when I found the inviting website for this property, I was pleased. It seemed to be a good fit.

Plus:  it's on a very popular street, close to the main plaza, so you don't feel the least bit scared walking back, even alone, late at night.  The staff is very friendly, there are lots of shops and several very good restaurants around. Price is not bad.

Cons: Pictures on the website are much more flattering, rooms look much brighter than they are in person. There seemed to be no effort at soundproofing the room. The church bells start ringing about 6:30 am, which jolts you from your sleep, and once you're awake there is plenty of noise from the street, birds, people in the hotel, to keep you from going back to sleep. Suggestion:  turn on the fan in the bathroom to help drown out noise.  The room had no heat source, it was cold and there was no way to take the chill out of the room. Bathroom tiny. You have to dodge the toilet to get in and out of the shower.

If price is the most important factor, you might be happy here.

Great location, romms without ventilation, water was not running, no air conditioning, bad decoration. Not a place to be confortable and to relax. Decoration is without care, service is limited to some coffee.

Its not what they show

Hotel Casa San Miguel is a genuine Mexican small hotel very near to the city center of San Miguel de Allende (Walking). Rooms are not luxurious but cousy. If you are expecting a real Mexican experience, having a middle budget, this place might be the right place for your stay.

A Mexican New Year 

The staff was very friendly and helpful.  The room we had was small but good for us.  Basic but exceptionally clean.  We were there for a wedding and were on the go a lot so we just needed a place to sleep and clean up.  It was also very quiet for sleeping.  Good location to shops and the town square and cathedral.  The owners told us that they are renovating the upper level to make it a rooftop bar which will be very nice.
