This is the only way I could write a review about my experience at the spa. 

Unfortunately I don’t know much about the hotel per se since we only used the services at the spa. It is an old building so don’t expect the same ambiance one would find at any modern, almost clinical spa. It is quaint. Massage rooms are small but comfortable. Staff at reception is always cheerful and welcoming. Can’t say enough about the spa staff itself. Treatments might not be on par with North American standards, but pretty darn close. We have both - my wife and I - enjoyed the massages. We have spent 4 months in SMA and had at least one massage every week.

One important note...20% of what you pay (a fraction of CDN or US prices) is going to a charity that feeds the elderly. It truly is a 100% feel-good experience.

A surprising find this small boutique hotel with full range of excellent spa services including deep tissue Swedish , detox, hot stones and traditional oriental spa treatments from 12 in house masseuses each with over 10 years extensive training

Full of local artifacts Casa de Misionero offers charming low key atmosphere with excellent service. 4 two bedroom suites with adjoining bathroom , each decorated with original art makes for a different and unique stay.
 Location wise could not be better all within a 2-3 minute walk.

The pricing with spa treatments cannot be found elsewhere given the quality of service!!!

Additionally 20% of monies received are donated to support food programs for the elderly in San Miguel!!!!

Off to my 2 hour message with 5 treatments and facial!


Quaint boutique  hotel in the heart of historic San Miguel 

This hotel is in a great location it is within walking minutes to downtown.  it is an old 17th century building with some history which in my opinion makes it interesting.  This is an old house made into a hotel and that is apparent.  The decor is kind of weird but I was not there to loiter around the common areas.  This place is also a spa and the hotel patrons get a discount.  The masseuses were very good.

It is definitely not a luxury hotel, however, if you are looking for comfort and location this is a good hotel.  I stayed in the three bedroom suite. It is very spacious.  Two of the bedroom's wall do not go all the way to the ceiling and one of the rooms used to be a kitchen.  All those oddities did not bother me.  The hotel personnel were nice and took care of little issues we had.

They can definitely improve in their cleaning and maintenance,  The common area were dusty and our room was also a little dusty.  However, to be fair, I believe many hotels have this problem. Some of the cabinets were missing door knobs and the front door's lock should be replaced.  

Again, if you are looking for luxury this is not the place, however, if you are looking for location and comfort this place is a good deal.

Great location!

this is one of the most awesome hotels I've stayed in.  not a luxury hotel, very quaint boutique hotel with a spa  prices are reasonable despite being very close to the city center.  I went with two friends and we reserved a room with three beds.  what we got was a suite with three separate bedrooms and one shared bathroom.  the other couple with us also go a suite with a master bedroom and a smaller room which they didn't need.  when I say it's quaint, I do mean quaint - looks more like an old house that's been decorated with paintings and Mexican objets d'artes.  price for our room was just over $100 US including tax and includes breakfast on the terrace which gives a nice enough view although it's only three stories high.  the only problem is very tight parking.  we did get one directly in front of the hotel but I'm not sure what we would have had to do if there was no space for our car.  I would go back any day and would also recommend this hotel to anyone.

awesome hotel, great location

This is the 5th time I have been to San Miguel, and by far the worst, and weirdest hotel I've stayed in. Check in was very vague, my room has no external windows (it calls itself a suite too?), the bath mat has probably never been washed, and the breakfast was so awful that I'm going out for it tomorrow. The only good thing I can say is that the room seemed fairly clean. I would have booked an extra night, but they said they were full- strange when I'm the only person here? Thankfully I'm going elsewhere tomorrow morning. I don't just think there are better places for the money- I know because I've stayed in them before!
