Beautiful former home transformed into a boutique hotel.
Staff was extremely courteous and accommodating.
Very comfortable room and bed/bedding.
Great breakfast included.
Easy walk to the central square.
Highly recommended! 

Great little hotel! 

Great hotel! Xacalli has the feel of a bed and breakfast with 5 star hotel service. The hotel is placed in an old house and maintains character and charm, but doesn’t feel dated in any way. Everything is spotless, clean and in good condition. 

My room was on the 2nd floor in the detached rooms overlooking the rooftop deck. It was spacious and had a very comfortable bed and pillows. The details of the rooms design were beautiful, exposed brick ceiling, a little stained glass window, a beautiful wooden old carriage wheel converted into a chandelier, and even fresh flowers and a chocolate on each night stand. The bathroom and shower are large and the shower had good water pressure and maintained hot water. Wifi was good and everything you could need was provided in the room, included a toothbrush, toothpaste, razor and many other little things you may need. 

Breakfast was a selection of yogurt, fruit and granola and then eggs, beans and toast were prepared to order. 

The location in my opinion can’t be beat. It is just around the corner from the most beautiful street in all of San Miguel de Allende…the one that is in all the photos of San Miguel. Then this street leads right to the cathedral. Since you are about a 5 minute walk away from the cathedral that also means that the rooms are very quite…with the exception of maybe a rooster crow or two in the morning. Haha. This is true, but it was not a problem at all. 

I was actually sad to leave this hotel, everything was so great. I hope to return soon!

Wonderful hotel, feels like home away from home

We spent two nights in the master bedroom. The place has a nice layout. It is a bit smaller than we like it, but staff is very friendly, service is excellent. The room was a blend of authentic and classy. Highly recommend it. 

Boutique, small and classy 

We had a great room, very comfortable bed and wonderful breakfast in the morning. They offer complimentary wine and drinks in the evening. We walked to almost everywhere we had to go great location. I would recommend to anyone staying in San Miguel.

Great Location and nice friendly hosts

This hotel is a real find.  The rooms are very comfortable, with quality bedding, towels and mattresses.  They are fully stocked with everything you could possibly need.  The hot breakfast changes daily - egg dishes, quesadillas, pancakes, a variety - and there is a Nespresso machine so you can have coffee whenever you want.

Very quiet.  I have only rarely seen another guest during this week.

There are only six rooms.  Each has an indigenous name.  The two at the rear of the property are the quietest.  The name of my room was Kochistli, which is the downstairs of the two rooms at the rear.  It had a fireplace and desk.  Shower, no bath.  Strangely, no dresser, but large closet.  When I pulled the blackout curtains, it felt tomb-like (in a good way).

It is located close to anywhere you want to go in el Centro.

The best thing about Xacalli is the people who work there.  Very friendly, service oriented, unobtrusive.
