Our driver Manuel took us to visit the Colonial town of San Sebastián del Oeste which is at least 1 1/2 hours away from Puerto Vallarta.  Los Arcos is in the town center.  Our food was fresh and good.  Loved the Coffee de Olla - coffee mixed with cinnamon and chocolate.  The staff told us where to buy the roasted coffee beans on our way out of town.  I think we were the only tourists visiting the small town.

Nestled at the foot of the mountain, next to the town square this is the perfect location in San Sebastian! When you pull into the town square there is no missing it. And every restaurant, bar, and shop is within a 10 minute walk. The staff here were very helpful and kind and someone seems to be at the front desk at all hours. The room was very cute and unique, keeping the historical nature of this old mining town that was founded in the 17th century.

We stayed at Arches de Sol about 15 years ago so we’re happy to return. It is still family run but has added the restaurant and improved linens, etc. WiFi is in the courtyard and probably some rooms but did not extend to our Room #6. The rooms are fairly comfortable but have typical hard mattresses. Drinking water is provided but no shampoo. There are lovely, soft big towels and a big shower! Everything is very clean. The family are attentive without being intrusive and we would happily stay here again.

Good, historic hotel in a sweet village.

My family and i take a a day to visit this town, from Puerto Vallarta takes aroun 1 1/2 hour to get there, the view and the place is like an old building, but the people is very kind and not complains, the coffee and our waitress perfect!
I'll be back again for the breakfast

Great view, good food for one day

Los Arcos de Sol is located in a centuries old building with an outdoor verandah with tables, looking onto the town square.
I can't pronounce or spell what we had but essentially it was a tender fillet of flank steak with guacamole , re-fried beens and a small salad at 120 pesos ($6 US). They served a side dish of fresh and very steamy tortilla's.
It was a very good lunch with a lovely view of the mountains.

Enjoyable Lunch in a Beautiful Village

Our food was cold when served. This restaurant is not ready to take care more than 3 tables at the tiime. Since it is a a very small town, with few visitors they are at times short of staff and that makes that serving takes longer than it should. Location is great, right infront of the main plaza.

The location of Los Arcos is perfect - overlooking the picturesque main square if San Sebastian del Oeste.  But according to trip advisor this is a three star hotel.  I don't see the definitions anywhere, but this is no more than a one star hotel.  While it has the potential to be charming, the fact is that without air-conditioning or fans, our room reeked of mold. It did not appear to be overly clean.  There was a sketchy hand print on the window that looked like it had been there for a while. I'm pretty sure the padlock on our door (as the only means of locking our room) would not meet any type of fire code.  The courtyard also had potential, but they didn't have the fountain working and seemed to have junk sitting on some of the benches.  Given this location, this hotel has a ton of untapped potential. But for now it is barely a step up from camping. (Though we did at least have hot water).
