I have stayed at the Hotel Posada Santa Anita numerous times over the years.
The family that owns it lives onsite and is very friendly.
It is not a luxury hotel but it is comfortable and accessible to everything.
Get up to the Zocolo by micro bus or taxi then walk back down the hill to the hotel.
Located on the main lower street and beside the bus depot it is a convenient location. The views are spectacular.
They have free parking (which is a premium in Taxco)
This is not a luxury hotel, it is a budget traveler hotel.

Wonderful Family Hotel

Me and my friend visited Taxco in March and we chose this hotel because it was 1) pretty much first on our way and 2) located right next to the bus station, which is pretty comfortable, i tell you, when you're carrying heavy backpacks or have an early morning bus out/in. It's a cute hotel and at that time seemed to be pretty empty. The lady at the front desk (booth) gave us a choice of few clean but small and windowless rooms downstairs or the one on the top terrace. And i'm here to tell you that the top terrace rocks! There are only two rooms on the top terrace, so it's pretty private and quiet. It has amazing view to the nightly city and the terrace itself is very comfy for sitting and enjoying the evening. The hotel is clean and our twin room was pretty spacious. I remember that we got about 1/3 off the rack rate when we said we didn't care about the TV and air conditioning. The shower was ensuite. It's about 10 minute walk to the zocalo (the town's main square) and most of local public transportation buses stop very near to the hotel, which is very convenient. Lovely hotel for a good price

This place is excellently located beside the bus station, and the staff are nice and accommodating but the rooms are very very basic. i.e. The shower has no curtain or seperation from the sink/toilet. Bit of smell from the toilet also. Also the beds were more of a foam than a mattress. In its defense, the place was clean and had no bugs. Wouldn't be in a rush back as the price was too much for the standard.

My friend and I picked this B & B because it had two very good reviews (granted they were in 2010), it was well priced and it was close to the bus station.  
The pros:
It's walkable to the bus station
It has a great terrace & view (terrace room)
Small comfortable beds
Free water
The cons:
On main traffic street
Incredibly noisy at night with traffic, barking dogs and fighting cats
Old, dusty, small, basic room
No breakfast, no coffee
Must walk up very steep streets to get to Zocolo
