It was an amazing experience to learn how to cook such amazing food and share the experience with my friends. 

Chef Anna and her staff really know how to make everyone feel welcome and feel like part of the family. 

I’d highly recommend this vacation to anyone that loves good food and good company

Delicious Vacation! Villa Bonita will exceed your expectations!

My husband and I spent a week at La Villa Bonita in Tepoztlán Mexico. It was an amazing experience! Chef Anna Garcia and her entire team made us feel part of her family from the first meal until we sadly had to leave. The week was filled with going to the market in Tepoztlán selecting the freshest of produce, meats, cheeses and fruits. My husband and I both felt a true since of accomplishment preparing dinner daily via hands-on instructions from Chef Anna. Each morning her team prepared a wonderful breakfast to start our day. The accommodations were perfect. The resort/home  has six rooms that were perfectly equipped for the week. We plan to make Chef proud by taking what we learned and preparing these traditional Mexican dishes for friends and family. We can’t wait to visit La villa Bonita again and bring friends and family with us. 

Outstanding Culinary Experience

This was our first experience with a culinary vacation.  Chef Ana and her staff are absolutely wonderful.  My husband and I were the only two that week in the cooking classes so we had quite a bit of hands on experiences.  The food that we cooked was so delicious.  I can't wait to make it at home.  The property is beautiful and the town of Tepoztlan is very interesting.

Mexican Cooking at its best

We celebrated our friends 50th at La Villa Bonita- it was absolutely perfect from when they picked us up at the airport to when they dropped us off in Mexico City. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the pool is heated. The views of Tepoztlan are fabulous and the grounds are beautiful. The location is perfect. You could easily walk into town to explore or go for a great hike right out the door. Going to the market with Ana was very educational and fun and it was great to then go back to the Villa and cook a feast with Ana and her team. The cooking classes were excellent, moles are no longer too intimidating to make! We had a great day with Ale exploring town and going to see a traditional potter and we bought some beautiful dishes! We all had fabulous massages in our villa and Ana took us to a great yoga class. Ana and her team made us all feel at home. It is an incredibly warm environment where if you are hungry- go get a snack, thirsty grab a beer or whatever you would like! Look forward to returning for another culinary experience with Ana!

Awesome Experience!

Anna is a force of nature. She has so much energy and knowledge about Mexican cooking.  We went with a group of 12 for 5 days to celebrate a birthday. The accommodations are great.  She organizes massages. There’s a heated pool.  We went to shop for our food at the local market in town daily.  Learned how to make mole and chiles rellénos among many other things.  Tepoztlan is wonderful and has an amazing climate.  I highly recommend for foodies wanting to learn more about cooking cuisine from central Mexico.

Best cooking trip ever

Beautiful vacation chef Ana was a delight to have very great for family’s with teens and solo people provided direct transportation from Mexico City airport to the resort beautiful town and amazing people and staff great views loved very much

Culinary paradise

Chef Ana and Robb created a once in a lifetime experience for us during our week in Tepoztlan! They made us part of their family and taught us local traditions and culture through the process of preparing amazing food and drink. I highly recommend La Villa Bonita Culinary Vacation. We will be back!

Rich Experience

If you're Mexican and don't stay with them, they're just paying attention to the foreigners.The place is pretty, but the customer service is fatal, they don't solve the problems that rooms have for example: lack of hot water, drains, etc.

Poor experience

We have spent a week for the past two years learning how to cook traditional Mexican food at Villa Bonita.  Chef Ana is a fabulous teacher.  She provides her students with clear instructions, puts you to work in her open air kitchen , and is always there to teach without hovering.  She walks you to market to shop for ingredients for the day’s kitchen projects.  You are also treated to a Chef’s dinner upon arrival and your last evening.  One day is spent on a tasting tour at market vendors.  Our cooking skills have matured under Chef Ana’s tutelage.  Accommodations are very comfortable tucked under beautiful mountains. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
We so enjoyed Tepoztlán that we stayed an extra week following our stay at Villa Bonita at an Airbnb.  It’s a delightful small city nestled in the mountains.

South of the Border Culinary Heaven

A week back from an unparalleled family vacation at La Villa Bonita and we are still talking about the delicious foods we prepped and cooked, from the basic guacamole and salsa verde to tamales, mole and posole rojo flavored by the pig head we bought that morning at the local market.  The charming market town of Tepoztlan is a maze of bustling activity and only a 10-15 minute walk from the villa. The hospitality and warmth of Ana, Robb and all their staff (who were more like family than employees) were so genuine and authentic that we started our vacation as guests with drinks and appetizers in their spacious open-air kitchen but left feeling like members of their extended family. 

LVB is a unique travel experience perfectly suited for singles, couples, families, and groups who are tired of a traditional vacation get-away in the US, Caribbean, or Europe. We felt completely safe as we traveled by foot and taxi and found the people of Tepoztlan to be warm and friendly despite our very poor Spanish language skills, and always managed to communicate with charades and smiles. The variety of activities available (including the option of total ‘downtime’ relaxing on the grounds of the La Villa Bonita paradise) should appeal to any traveler from the experienced home cook to the person who just wants to eat well during an authentic cultural immersion vacation.
