We reserved a stay for 4 months in advance to receive a cancellation the day we arrived in Mexico. We were told they double booked. Either a scam or poor booking management. We were on our own to find other accommodation during the busiest time here.

Double booked

I booked this rental through VRBO and it was cancelled the day before our arrival.  There was no reasonable explanation given.  They didn't respond to my messages before the cancellation so I felt something was wrong.  I had to scramble to find another rental for our week vacation in Akumal.  It was very stressful and I wouldn't recommend booking here.

Horrible experience

We loved our week-long Christmas stay at the Tan-Ik condos in Half Moon Bay! Quiet starry nights, lots to see while snorkeling, walking distance to the Laguna, with bikes for rent if you want to go into the pueblo, close to several restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The bedroom was comfortable and quickly cooled down with the AC at night. Silvia and the on-site staff are excellent, the pool and grounds were well maintained. we had consistent hot water, except for when we tried to take back to back showers on a few cold days - then the water would be chilly at the end. Everything else was great. We hope to go back in the future!

He's been there twice. It's a very comfortable department because we're going with kids. Akumal is a snorkeling paradise. We don't have to move out of the department, the beach is very quiet. The only problem is that we don't have internet and that affects because often you get work and can't do it.

Very good location.

This is the second time we have stayed there.
The staff is very friendly and cordial.
Beds very comfortable.
The staff cleans the place daily, the pool is really nice.
They have a nice outside area where you can spend time.
The only drawback is there is not a lot of water pressure in the showers.

Great stay

Tan Ik is a small (6 units) condo, with spacious interiors (inc 2 large bedrooms) lovely landscaping & pool out back & immediate access to beach. (Take water shoes, getting into ocean here requires walking on lots of rocks near the shore).  Staff were lovely, usually responsive, though they (reasonably) take a day off on Sunday. Everything very clean: rooms, windows, pool, beach. Drinking water supply is great.  Wireless & satellite TV reception is intermittent - don't count on extended time on your computer!  Location is 2 km walk from town, with 3 restaurants closer by on the Bay.  Got lots of exercise!   Place seems solidly built, nice bathroom tiles (marble?). Decor is completely neutral, nothing to indicate that one is in Mexico.  Felt very safe & secure here, indoors & at the pool.

Comfortable & very clean condominium

overall a great experience.  The cleaning staff does a great job.  You must ask for fresh towels though, and tip them every day. The negatives:  They could use some good quality towels as well as some soft door closures.   Drafts and heavy doors that slam constantly.  Hard tiled floors that you can hear people walking in other units could be mitigated by having a few floor rugs. 
Also, The smell from the trash across the street was horrible.

Tanik 3rd floor

First the staff is amazing we had an excellent time we went snorkeling right in front of the condo saw a sea turtle also they would not have a good ocean for little kids but the pool was great I would recommend a condo on the first floor over all five stars!!!

Akumal family trip

First of all let me start with the manager I e-mailed her stated that we would be late could she leave the keys in the unit.
We arrived at 22:00 and she was waiting for us, great service from the manager to all the staff, very friendly.
The room vas very clean, the pool was swept every day as the beach right in front of the condo.
There was room service every day,they even stocked the coffee.
The only reason the didn’t not get 5 stars was because the beds were a bit hard on both the bedrooms, but that would not stop us to book it again.

Peaceful and beautiful condo

We spent nine nights here. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the sea to the fullest. It is for quiet families who like to enjoy nature. We were in it downstairs and opened the door to see your grandchildren enjoy it to the fullest. At night we would go out to see the snails. Recommended for families who love nature.
