I found this hotel on a booking site, on of the few available places on the weekend I wanted. The pictures were quite different than the actual hotel. The first room we were taken to consisted of two beds crowded up again an added bathroom. No closet, nor bureau, no chairs. We asked for another room and were taken to a 2nd. It was a little better, there was a leak in the bathroom, again an awkward added on room, and the toilet was facing so close to the wall that one couldn't sit on it anyway but sideways. Feeling like troublemakers, we asked for a better room. We were pleasantly accommodated. It would be fine if one was looking only for a very inexpensive room. There were positives though, it was two blocks from the Centre, which was nice, and the staff was very helpful, and friendly. They also had a good wi-fi connection. I know they were all doing the best with what they had available. It was my mistake for not having booked a room early enough to find a better hotel.

Close to the Centre

This is close to main plaza. 
The cheapest room is 150 pesos. The Internet worked on arrival but soon stopped working. The shower has hot water but no shower head so water pressure want great. 
The staff don't speak much English but can get by. If you want a cheap place in Uruapan this works. 

Cheap and cheerful 

We stayed here for 5 nights in late july. Or budget forced us to take a simple room with no television or bathroom for 200 pesos. The room itself had two double beds. There was a meager window up high next to the ceiling. The whole place was spotless, right down to the bathrooms. There was ample hot water. The cleaning lady brought us in a little table after a day or so, and that was very kind of her. We did see into a few of the en suite rooms and they looked quite nice, however we cannot comment on the price.
There was wi fi, as well as a computer for guest use. The hotel had a cooler with drinks for sale. It was staffed 24 hours, so it is very safe. Jaime worked the desk during the day, and he was such a friendly man. He asked us what we were going to do each day, and gave us plenty of info on the area. He always had a friendly hello and a smile. Hats off to him. There were not many guests during or stay, which made the place feel like ours. Overall a very solid place, run with expert care.
