Many problems internet and tv didn’t work, the AC didn’t work, the elevator didn’t work.  No hot water and there was mold in the bathroom. We mentioned all of these thing the the reception and they were all. Very rude and just said “sometimes that’s just how things are here” 

I would have just left and found another hotel but I had already paid for it.

Don’t stay here

We couldn't get in the Diligencias, which for its parking and other amenities is one of  be Mexico's best. The Imperial is also only 50 meters away and facing the zocalo and features not just location, but superb service. If you have a car, Victor the concierge is there to help. A large framed print shows the building 200+ years ago and surely the 
 classic ornate elevator in the lobby is one of the first installed in Mexico. Between the Diligencias and the Imperial, the traveler can't lose.

The hotel is right downtown in the Zocalo and on the central plaza.  While it can get noisy at night, especially on the weekends, closing the doors helps.  Plus, the music is charming to listen to.  The hotel is historical, and the staff are improving it bit by bit.  The rooms and beds are impeccably clean.  The breakfast is delicioso.  It was fun to step outside,have a beer on the plaza, and people watch.

Excellent stay in historic hotel

We felt drowned to this hotel due to it's historical attractiveness, however I do not recommend it at all. There are other small hotel right there which I would think are better options. 
We got there late evening on Easter and the hotel receptionist argued our reservation was not made and we had to deal with the travel agency, Not only did we feel ripped off but also he was not nice or helpful at all. He kept repeating "This is not of my business" I did reply, this IS your business, I'm going to make it YOUR business.

Worst experience ever

not a nice place not good staf room small on 4th floor had to walk up last flight of stairs tv not working not anything nice to say would not advise anyone to go tghereonly good factor was the location even there restaurant bad  service ^& food also high prices

Hotel Imperial, in the Zocalo of Veracruz is a gem of architecture and history!  I actually stood in the same balcony where Emperor Maximilian and Marie Charlotte glanced at the plaza!  Unfortunately, it needs major attention by its owners/management.  Because of this: rates are super-affordable.  This hotel is for history buffs.  Unique elevator.  Location: unbeatable!  There is no gym and the pool is murky.  I am recommending it, but take this into consideration.  It's like a 2 star hotel with problems, but the linens are clean!
