I had a confirmed booking with this hostal for the better part of a month, had even received communications from the hostel in regards to when I was to arrive. Then with no communication directly from the hostel I received a notification that the reservation was not going to be honored, less than 48 hours before my date of travel. This property clearly doesn’t respect people’s time, and what’s worse is this occurred during a pandemic when health and safety are a concern and now I am left to the expecnsive task of rebooking and planning alternative travel arrangements. I’ve never had a confirmed booking like this not be honored...I think the hostel disliked the very good deal I received on my room and just overbooked and I was the short straw...shame on you.

Cancelled my reservation 2 days before arriving with no notice from the hostel...

The interior garden is lovely and peaceful, the kitchen and relaxation areas are great and the dorms and rooms are too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I really felt at home staying there for a week. Highly recommended!

Fantastic hostel!

During our stay, there was some renovation so not all rooms were available. We stayed in a small dorm with 2 other people. 
Pros: 
The rooms and bed were clean and comfortable. No locker but we felt safe leaving our belongings while we explored. 
We loved the location and quiet neighbourhood. We could get everywhere within 20 mins walk and the mercado one block over was excellent! 
The afternoon/evening staff member was particularly excellent and very friendly. 
No bunnies but there is a hostel cat named Frida who was lovely
Free breakfast (simple but much appreciated)
Garrafon available 24/7
Well equipped kitchen for cooking. 
Nice music playing throughout the day (but always quiet after 10pm!)
Excellent wifi

Cons: 
The ceiling in our room did shed a little something which was only a concern if on the top bunk. 
The showers had good pressure but the hostel, particularly the bathrooms, looked a bit run down with a fair amount of mould about the place. We did briefly spy a cockroach and quickly changed shower cubicles! 
There appeared to be a significant number of permanent residents which changed the vibe - fine for a night or two for a solo traveller. One in a dorm appeared to have his girlfriend over for the night which was peculiar! 

Overall, we would probably stay here again if travelling in Xalapa. 

Good... but not great!

I'm always staying at hostels during my trips, but this one was my favorite! Beautiful house, comfortable rooms, amazing garden and shared spaces, and the staff were the best! It felt like home and I had a lovely time, there's no other place I would rather be in Xalapa!

Perfect stay!

Nice and convenient location, quiet, cute courtyard, loved the rabbits!

Single room at ground level was extremely humid! Shower wasn't so clean, and upper walls were covered with black mold due to lack of ventilation. People in the room above mine were quite noisy until 2:00 am :-(
