Perched on the hillside in Chefchaouen this guest house is filled with classic Moroccan furniture. The location means lots of steps and strangely shaped rooms. We could just walk around our bed and the bathroom, while adequate, could really only accommodate one person at a time. 
Breakfast is so generous that it’s impossible to eat everything. I took the low price into account when rating this guesthouse and on balance think it offers good value.

Classic Morocco

Very beautiful and traditional guesthouse. The staff are great and the place is very beautifully decorated. The room was a bit small but I think that is the style in this town. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very delicious and huge. Bathroom has hot water and great pressure. I didn’t like the city, but if I come back I would definitely stay here again. 

Beautiful place in the heart of the Medina 

Lovely welcoming and homey place to rest up in while exploring the Blue City. Great breakfast and very accommodating staff. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The rooftop deck was lovely even though it was being painted.

Great spot

A little worn but charming.  Quality of hotels in this town does not meet quality of other areas for lodging so this is probably as good as you can get.  Breakfast was very good.  She’s up the hill to this hotel was more than others so if you are challenged by steps, you may want to choose Casa Hassan

Good for this town

We really loved the riad. Very beautiful however we had booked two nights in the suite and were told after the first night that we would have to move to a much smaller room with no views etc. Disappointing but we didn’t let it ruin the day. We had tea/coffee pot in the room, fridge, great views (first night), clean, breakfast very good.

Situated at the Old town easy to find from Bab souk not far from the centrum and the famouse place Wta El Hamam. When you visit the city CHEFCHAOUEN, you Will enjoy to stay at Dar Meziana

CHEFCHAOUEN place to sleep

AsiaTV studios had the pleasure of featuring Dar Meziana during our trip around Morocco, while in search of green best practices in tourism. True to it the sustainable character that Chefchaouan takes pride in, the hotel was a remarkable example of Moroccan architecture, while making us feel close to nature. The owner and staff are very hospitable, accommodating our needs inside and even outside the hotel itself. Even when we had to check out in the wee hours of the morning, our breakfast was packed in advance to our comfort. We were also give many suggestions about local tours, and other special finds. Not to mention, the terrace and garden are perfect nooks for those looking to relax, with just enough distance from the busy Medina, while still overlooking the blue grandeur that the city has always been known for.

First class hospitality!

Nice and cozy rooms, with a very comfortable bed. Very abundant breakfast which can be taken on a nice terrace. Friendly and helpful staff, they do anything to help you. We were going on a 2 day hiking trip, after which we needed to immediately go to the station, and they offered to bring there our luggage. Since we finished the hiking a little early, they let  us have a shower in a free room before our departure. 

Certainly recommended

The hotel was comfortable and beautiful. It's tucked away down a quiet street on the edge of the old city just inside the ancient walls. The balcony has an incredible view over the city and valley. A lot of people walk over the old Spanish mosque to watch the sun set but I found the balcony at this hotel to be as good or better. Not that the walk isn't worth your while. Ask Abdeslam (@abdeslammoden) to show you around town or hook you up with another tour of the park or something.  

I had a wonderful and relaxing time based out of this hotel. The staff were wonderful to us, even when I was bugging them for tea 3 times a day.

Hidden Gem

My husband and I chose to visit Chefchaouen on our honeymoon and chose Dar Meziana as our hotel. We chose this hotel based on the photos we found, but quickly learned that the beautiful interior is only the tip of the iceberg. Firstly, the hotel staff was gracious, attentive, helpful, and friendly. You have so many options available to you as a guest here and the way they have the services set up and offered within the hotel are really nice. For example, you can have your taxi from the airport in Tangier or Tetouan arranged for you at an affordable cost. They also offer private tours of the city or mountain hikes with incredibly knowledgeable guides. They are happy to recommend local restaurants, but if you want to stay in, they will serve full meals and tea for you (I recommend taking both on their terrace for the incredible view of the mountains and the city). Also worth noting, you can pay for anything at the hotel with euros, in case you've been in Europe and don't want to change over all your money. We had a wonderful time here and there were so many people that made our trip memorable and special. We would highly recommend Dar Meziana.
