We had a wonderful stay at Gonatouki. We were a family of three, the pools, the food, the company, the bedroom were all marvellous. Thank you to Bruno and his team for being wonderful hosts. Essaouria is very close by and easy to reach, far better than staying in a hotel in town!

A wonderful stay!

We had a lovely stay at Bruno‘s place, it was one of the best airbnb experiences so far. The villa is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by serene landscapes in a very peaceful area conveniently located between Essauira and beaches. The food was also great and the staff very friendly. The hammam and the swimming pools were perfect to relax. We will definitely come back!

My boyfriend and I have been blessed to do a lot of traveling and love to see new places, but we both agree that Gonatouki is one place that we would return to again and again. Although one of us was on a tight writing deadline during our stay, we were both able to feel deep relaxation and connection in this special home. It is difficult to say what we loved most. The stars as night, the fireplaces in each room, and the care we received from the Gonatouki team are all core pieces of our experience that combined into a one of a kind stay. 

There is an unmistakable energy and character to this home that cannot be conveyed through pictures. It is the way light comes through the windows, how birds chirp throughout the day, how every meal is prepared with intention and home-cooked love. This natural beauty is supported by a devotion to understanding the winds of Essouira and how to design a space that works with the natural environment. Bruno, owner and our host, loves what he does and this can be felt in every detail at Gonatouki. Our time here was remarkable and filled with memories we will continue to treasure. We know that you will feel the same. 

We already miss it!

We spent one week with our extended family at the villa and greatly enjoyed every aspects of our stay.

The villa is huge and has been designed to allow (very) large groups to gather while offering intimacy. Rooms are large, well decorated, en suite and most have large terrasse. Multiple lounges and places for aperitives, dinners, lunches and breakfasts. Villa is very well decorated in a colouful traditional marrocan style.

Service is also exceptional. The owner Bruno and his team will make you feel at home and offer full range of services with smile and competence.

We had breakfasts and dinners at the villa and sometimes lunches. All meals were traditional, varied and delicious. Breakfasts were superb with a mixt of home made bread and pancakes cooked in the morning at the villa, fresh fruit juices,  eggs, fruits,...Lunches and dinners were traditional maroccan style and were also varied and delicious. Cooks are very gifted and  flexible. They adpt to your rythm and seem to be able to prepare anything guests want. All meals can be adapted to glutten sensitive guests and are also delicious (inlcuding pancakes, bread and corn based couscous which is rare...).

Possibility to benefit from experienced, friendly and flexible babysitters.

Villa comprises a hamman and offers exceptional massages. There are 2 large heated swimming pools.

The owner Bruno is always available to provide guidance and support for the organization of your stay.

We will surely come back and recommend this place to anyone who want to enjoy the best that Marocco can offer.

Gonatouki, Marroco at its best

You won't feel like you are in a hotel but you will feel welcomed and at home.
Bruno the owner and his amazing staff (Hafssa, Cathy, Latifa, Mustapha...)  will make sure that your stay is perfect.
One of the best breakfasts I had. And you can have it anywhere in the house and no fixed times for it.
The villa is beautiful and well decorated you feel at ease. 
Both pools are always clean and heated (perfect when it's windy).
And Bruno always there to share his crazy and interesting stories.

Not a hotel - but an amazing private residence.  We couldn't rate the hospitality more highly.  The owner and staff are really attentive and lovely people.  A perfect off grid place to chill out in easy reach of the town of Essaouira

Amazing Place

Villa Gonatouki is a wonderful place, where you feel at home instantly. you're really Bruno's guest, and he makes sure you are the happiest you can be. The food prepared by his lovely staff is delicious (actually the best we had in 2,5 weeks in Morocco!) and little details like a dinner full of carefully picked flowers makes that you feel so welcome all the time.

Also, the space is mindblowing. The villa is very spacious and colourful and the rooms have wonderful view over the Valley of Essaourira.

We had the best time ever at gonatouki, and when we're returning to Marocco, this will be the first place for us to book!! We'll be back for sure. Thank you Bruno and your family and staff, we really loved it.

Just perfect!

We spent four days at Gonatouki. Unfortunately we missed our flight to Essaouira and we had to take another flight to Agadir. Bruno, our host at Gonatouki, was kind enough to book a taxi for us from Agadir to Essaouira, and wait for us until 11.30 pm to serve us a full and excellent Moroccon dinner! We could take our meals at the time of our choice, and we had the two heated pools almost to ourselves. Bruno was a great host, with plenty of great stories to tell and always making sure we had what we wanted.

Had to write my first review on tripadvisor because Gonatouki blew me away. 

I’ve lived in New York for three years now and have experienced many 5 star hotels across the world. It’s no exaggeration to say that Gonatouki is one of my favorites. The homely feel. The beautiful rustic Moroccan architecture. The amazing home cooked meals. The proximity to Essaouira. 

Above all, Bruno and the staff have been so attentive, friendly, and such a delight to interact with. It’s as if this is not a job for them. Very highly recommend Gonatouki. Stop looking at other places and book this place.

Another long anticipated break at Gonatouki... Bruno and the team welcomed us back like family, we spent two night after dinner by the open fire on the terrace watching the stars ... beautiful! 
And in the morning we sauntered down for a few lengths in the pool with a view before breakfast ...
