The Riad is excellent as are the staff. They were so helpful when we needed to ask any questions. Our stay was a fabulous and memorable experience. We would high recommend this accommodation. It is quiet and close to the Fna.

Excellent trip

Had a brilliant 4 night stay, first time in Marrakesh. Arrived using the airport transfer that Zack (manager) kindly arranged for us. I would recommend this offered transfer as the Riad would be hard to find by taxi. My husband and I were met by Zack at the Riad, he knew we had an early flight so kindly asked his colleague to make us breakfast. Zack gave us some great information and a map regarding Marrakesh. The Riad itself is situated within a 10 minute walk of the main square which we found to be an ideal location. The Riad has 4 guest rooms. We initially stayed in the voyage double room which was brilliant and served it’s purpose. After our first night we were moved into the terrace suite as we were told a group was coming, which was a kind gesture. The terrace suite was lovely, however there was a smell of sewage at times which was covered by the fragrance of the oil burners. Toulia and Hind (staff) were brilliant and always asked what time we wanted breakfast. Overall brilliant stay, brilliant staff. Thank you so much!

Superb!

We were 7 friends traveling together and we managed to book all the rooms in this riad. Our manager Zack picked us up from the airport. He  took us out on the first evening to show us the neighborhood, the way to the souks and made sure that we knew our way back to the riad. The two women on the staff, Touria and Hind,  provided us with a delicious breakfast every morning and cups of tea and coffee when we wanted them. We asked whether we could  to leave some luggage behind in the riad after we checked out. We were flying to Fez and after 4 days flying back  to Marrakesh, and flying  out to London the same evening. To save us trying to get back to the riad to pick up our luggage, Zack had promised he'd bring it to  to the airport and true to his word he was there when our flight from Fez landed. This was so kind and he did it obligingly. The general charm of the staff and the cosy comfort of the  riad made us feel very much at home and we were sorry when our stay of 4 nights there was over. I would very heartily recommend this place with its clean quiet rooms, lovely terrace and obliging staff.

A friendly, cosy home near the medina

We really enjoyed our stay at Riad dar Thania. The place is great and so are the hosts: beautiful house - nicely restored, nice roof terrace, yummy breakfast, good location in the Medina. Reccommended!

Superb place!

From the moment you arrive , you will be treated like family . Your well-being, safety and cultural experance is utmost to them .
They will greet you with tea or coffe and homade biscuits.
After you have settled they will escort you through the old town showing you the key points so you can find your way around. They will not leave you until you are all comfortable about finding your way home.
They openly warn you of the scams and truly are thier to help you.
They will give honest advise on your plans and excursions and will assist in purchasing and booking tickets. They do not charge extra or add commission for this services. We are season travels and research pricing and double check things always , and never once did they quote or charge as different than what we would have paid in person , rail tickets , bus and tours. You can trust Zack like your best friend.
The lady’s who cook breakfast ,make the teas coffee and are there for you needs are amazing. They truly cook breakfast with love , and coffe is the best in Marrakech anytime you want , fresh and free.
To the owners your property is in great hands with Zack and he truly looks after your investment with true kindness to your guests.

The Riad that is truly a place of relaxation and friendships

About the location and amenities: 
Definitely stay in the terrace suite! We loved the natural light that came in to the top floor suite, as well as the to option and close the windows for air and light. 
The Wifi was strong and fast. 
The location is excellent; close to the sights and close to a little parking plaza that makes car pick ups/drop-offs quite convenient. 

About Zach and the staff: 
We arrived to Marrakech with a stomach bug and Zach helpfully called a doctor who made a house call right to our room within a few hours of arriving to Dar Thania. The Dr. gave us the appropriate prescriptions to match our symptoms (we checked this with our U.S. doctors), and getting this medicine was critical so that we could enjoy our final days in country. As we were on a limited diet, the women cooked special food for us - but from what we could see in the kitchen, the food looked awesome. With our limited time in Marrakech, it was important that we use our time efficiently, and Zach helped us in that regard by arranging a tuk-tuk to the Jardin Marjorelle and a cab to the airport. We suspect that it might have cost us a couple dollars more to go this route, rather than book on our own, but since we were so short on time, it was very helpful to have door to door service. 
Zach also helped us out by making a trip to the money exchangers during a rain storm at night to convert our american dollars to dirham so that we could pay the cab on the final day. All to say, he was very kind and helpful and we were so grateful for the help while we were there.  
The two other women who ran the operations onside (cooking, cleaning, checking us in/out), were very polite but had limited English. Most of our communication initially was done with Zach by email, but he was very responsive.

Loved the suite and appreciated the helpful staff

I stayed at Riad Dar Thania a couple of years ago and couldn’t wait to go back - it’s a beautiful Riad - about 5-10 minute walk from the centre of Marrakech! A glass of wine on the roof watching the setting sun and listening to the call to prayer is one of the highlights of a lovely weekend. The staff were smiley and endlessly flexible - although expect to speak French and Arabic not English. If I am lucky enough to return to Marrakech I will definitely stay here again

Most excellent place to stay

I booked through booking.com and the host took a €10 deposit and ailed me several times about booking a, ‘welcome dinner.’ When I arrived the property was closed and by all accounts the manager was not even in the country. He maintained that it was the fault of booking.con which I find hard to believe due to the funds taken. This is still unresolved and I’m not clear if this is a scam or not.

Booked but CLOSED!!

We stayed 3 nights at Riad Dar Thania and did not enjoy our stay. There were few issues, which we were willing to accept without complaining, as we were well aware of the fact that we basically went to Africa and that European standards are for sure different ones: The hot water to shower was very limited, no maintenance of furniture and interior, WiFi was not working, no proper communication with hotel staff was possible.

But the worst part was for sure that I had to throw away almost all of the clothes, shoes, bags and cosmetics I brought, because everything soaked up the moldy smell from the room and was full of cloth moths! I even had to throw away the suitcase (which was smelling so bad) because I feared to either bring moths to my home or to bring mould spores. Both is a nightmare to have at home and to get rid off and absolutely a no-go at any accommodation.

We definitely do not recommend to stay here, especially as room rates are quite high compared to other Riads, but quality is rather low. 

Room rate also doubles when one has to throw away a complete vacation suitcase...
