They charged my credit card at the reception instate of EUR 200 they charged EUR 2000 for one night. And now they don't take the phone und don't replay on Emails. It's a criminal organization - please don't book at this riad seriously!!! Fabian Plüss form Switzerland

Attention Attention it's a criminal riad!!!!

From arrival to departure; the team at Riad Suliman made us feel welcome, at home and at ease.  No request was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile!

A great location within the walls of the city, only a short walk away from the Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, Souks, 5 mins from the Palais de Bahia (a must see) and an array of restaurants.

If you are looking for perfection in terms of decor, cleanliness and furnishings - this Riad is not for you.  It does need a little TLC, to help it compete with some of the other Riads in the area.  You will find that it is dusty, but it is not unhygienic.   On arrival, my heart sank; but after embracing the Moroccan culture and way of life, we felt like we were really at home here.  If I was rating based on the facilities at the Riad only, I would rate a 3 only; but with the fantastic service from such a lovely team at the hotel - this has reflected in my rating of the Riad as a 4.

Our bedroom had a king size bed, which was very comfortable; plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space and a large bathroom.  A nice touch on arrival is the rose petals on the bed and around he bathroom.  The air conditioning is a definite advantage; even though we only used ours at night as the rooms stay relatively cool during the day.

A disappointment for us was that the small 'pool' is not for use.  It probably was for guest use at some point; but looks like it hasn't been touched for quite some time and looks very sad...  It was a real shame, as it would have made such a lovely feature if it was lit at night or even just used to sit in and cool off.

Breakfast is excellent, with freshly cooked Moroccan food and beautiful freshly squeezed orange juice.  Breakfast service is relaxed and you are not rushed at all.

The Roof Terrace is great, with an honesty bar, Hammam, Massage Room and lovely views across the city and towards the Atlas Mountains.  The sun bed cushion covers need replacing; but with a towel over, they are fine.   The undercover relaxing area was my favourite, as I'm not a sun dweller (well not for long anyway!) - it was so comfortable and fantastic for reading or just a snooze in the shade!

We took advantage of the Hammam and Massage, which was excellent value for money.

There is always a member of staff on hand 24 hours a day; which for an 8 bedroom Riad I was surprised and delighted with.  

If you are looking for a trip to the Altas Mountains and waterfalls, they have a great contact for private tours at very reasonable prices.  The driver was extremely knowledgable and friendly and arranged a guide for us up to the waterfalls too - which is something I would definitely recommend.  You get to see a totally different Morocco, which is laid back and peaceful.

Some other reviews on here have commented about bad wifi and lack of service - please ignore as these simply are not true.  The wifi worked perfectly throughout our stay and the staff was absolutely delightful.

For a real Moroccan experience and immersion into the local culture - this Riad is perfect.  It's such a friendly district of Marrakesh with locals genuinely welcoming you into their community and a stones throw away from the buzz of the streets and squares of Marrakesh.

Rustic Charm

Absolutely loved this place, it was beautiful inside and so serene.  The staff was awesome, very polite and super helpful.  It was the perfect oasis from the crazy streets of Marrakesh. I would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic experience.  There is also a great roof deck with views of the city.  

One tip if you are renting a car and trying to find it on your own: park at a big hotel a little outside the city and taxi in.  It's really hard to find if you do not know where you are going and DO NOT ask anyone for help on the streets unless it is a store clerk.  They will be very helpful, but then demand money once you find the location.  

Overall a great experience for my two day stay in Marrakesh.

Authentic and Relaxing

Surprised by the very cosy riad (mixture of hotel and hostel) in the Marrakech medina :-)
As soon as you enter the door, you feel like being in Aladin's country warmly welcomed by a smiling and helpful host inviting you for tea and showing you around the riad. 
The rooms are very cosy, roses in vases, rose buds on bed, floor, towels.
In the heart of the riad, you will find a small tiled pool with roses on the water surface, MA tables/chairs and palms.
On the first floor, you find your cosy room, designed with flair for details, with a view to the heart of the riad.
Continue up the stairs and you get to the roof top with lots of big flower pots with olive trees, herbs, roses, argan trees etc. and a shady 'living room'. A lazy cat takes a nap in a flower pot. From next roof top level, you can sit and enjoy the medina/Marrakech skyline.
The employees are very kind and  ready to help you with information, trip booking, a cup of tea, a pancake or maybe to get your clothes washed.
The breakfast is served in the heart of the medina. E.g. Moroccan pancakes, omelet, pancakes with yoghurt, banana and strawberries, pita bread, olive oil, jam, honey, orange juice, Moroccan tea or coffee.
You can also have a hammam experience.
The riad is located close to the Bahia Palace, Djerma el fna, the souk, numerous salesmen/women of almost everything in the world.
You simply deserve a stay here :-)

Surprisingly cosy riad with roof top terrasse

Stayed for 4 nights in the "Quartz" room at Riad Suliman.  The riad is a small traditional Riad with 8 rooms on 2 floors arranged around an attractive courtyard with a small (very small) swimming pool in the centre.  It would need to be very hot indeed to tempt me into the pool.  The Riad is clean and well looked after but looking alittle tired in places and it could do with some redecoration. It is well located a short stroll from the entrance to the Bahia Palace (which is a must visit destination) and 10-15min stroll to the Jemma El Fna cantral market place.  The riad (in common with most) is unprepossing from the outside but comfortable and all you need inside. We went in March and Marrakech canbe surprisingly cold in March, you will need jumpers and coats on many days.
