It was great experience to stay in this tent at the Sahara desert. Even the washroom in this camp is very clean. Staffs are friendly, smart, considered every details: meal, drink, camp fire, music, sandboard, sunset, breakfast at the sunrise, will not be bored. Well planned excursion for tourists. January night in the desert is cold, but we had warm sleep with four layers of blankets. Don't miss camel ride if you come. Bravo, thanks a lot. Super value of what we paid. 

This became highlight of our Morocco trip

The desert Berber fire camp is actually two places — the riad before the desert and the tent camp after entering the desert.  I used WhatsApp to reach out to Mohamed to book everything in my trip—which included them arranging transportation for me from Fes to Merzouga and then to Errachidia Airport, as well as additional activities in the desert for my entire stay. You can find their WhatsApp number on their booking.com page.

Living in the tent in the desert was an amazing spiritual experience. I got to experience a traditional Moroccan dinner and a Berber welcome, with dancing and singing around a fireplace, while staring at the thousands of stars visible in the sky.  During the day, there was also plenty to do. They helped arrange sand boarding , atv riding around the sand dunes, and a 4x4 tour to meet the nomadic people and some oasis. 

Highly recommend and would book again! 

Unforgettable experience

We had a great time at the Desert Berber Fire-Camp with Youssef (I’m not sure how ia written) and his family.

As described in the offer, we were received with some nuts and tea while waiting to enter in the desert.  We chose for going with a squad that Youssef drove us and it was quite adventures driving on the sands waves.

Later he dropped us to climb the highest hill to watch the sunset.

Then we drove till the camp and stay hanging around with others guests and the guys who work there with a cup of tea waiting for dinner. 

Dinner was nice and after it we all got together for music around the fire and watch the shooting stars.

The tends where we slept were clean and the blankets surprisingly warm, so we got a good sleeping night. Unfortunately the sleeping was so good that we missed the sunrise the next morning. Happens...

Resuming all the experience, I confident to rate it as 5 once we were warm received by everyone there and I felt comfortable all the time.

Highly recommend it.


Great experience in the Desert

It is very difficult to describe with a few words whole experience... Just go and live it on your own... It is so unusual, so relaxing, so nice... I enjoyed it sooo much. It worth every cent what i spend on it. Great organization, great food, nice and clean camp and tent, flush toilets (lol), sinks. Funny evening programme - traditional berber music and dancing... and the stars, lot of stars, incredible night sky. And great breakfast at the morning.

Pleasure experience

It was a great experience! Before booking-we had contact via whatsapp, which was very easy and the guys always answered fast.
We also got detailed information how we can reach their camp in merzouga, where the trips to the desert starts.
Mohamed, yussuf and their team were very friendly. The trip on the back of a dromedar to the camp at the other side of the desert took around 2.5 hours and included a short break to climb on the highest dunes and to take a lot of pictures. When we arrived at the "desert camp" we were introduced to the facilities which include real beds and real toiletts. After having tea and dinner we watched the sky full of stars and had a great evening with the guys making traditional music. 
On the next day we watched the sunrise and went back to their camp in merzouga-where we had breakfast and a shower.



Nice experience

Fantastic experience with fantastic guys. It's a true, not industrial camel trip in an intimate camp with true berber tents for rather small groups. Luxury food, stars watching in silence, then animation with fireplace, local music and dance. And we could even do it with our dog! It's a must!

Real dunes exploration and berber bivouac

This is a true bucket list adventure! The staff were very good at what they do from helping wrap scarves, getting you on and off your camel, getting photos of you riding and more. Eat and sleep under the stars on the edge of the dunes, wake up early to see the sun rise and investigate the dunes by foot while they are cool.
We were there in summer (46C in day and 35C at night). We slept outside.
Moroccan food served in open tent Berber style then camp fire for traditional music where we got to try playing.
Breakfast was pretty basic but enough.
Showers and flush toilets communal.
There is a pool (which we were shown at breakfast)! Would have hopped in to cool off.

Don’t Sleep! 

Wow!!! What to say? First time in Morocco and we just knew It will not be the trip we wanted without viditing Sahara, riding camels, sleeping in desert and so much more. Our hosts Mohamed and Youseff welcomed us very warmly. I just felt like I came to home, like I knew this guys for a very long time. It was so easy to talk, to plan our two night stay in desert, as we didn't wanna to sleep in Riad. Both nights in Sahara desert is so much better then you can't imagine. Relaxing, like a real vacation. Let me go from the begining. We arrived around 5pm from Fes, long 9 hour drive, we were kind of tired, but somehow we managed to go on camels and take a two hour ride from Riad to Camp in Sahara. It was so out of this world. Just keep in mind to travel light. Now I know next time when I go there to Mohamed and Youseff I will leave some of my stuff at Riad, and just take T-shirt to Sahara. It's more enjoyable when you ride without rucksack on your back. Camels are very peaceful animals so It's really fantastic to ride them. Just put some long thin sleeves on your arms and legs. Sun is strong out there. Mohamed gave us cold icy water, and we were really grateful. Very kind of him. ☺️After 2 hours of slow but memorizing camel riding you are in the camp! Carpets on the sand, tents around, in the middle two gazebo's, just fantastic! It was great idea to be here for two nights. Then while you enjoy serenity and make new friends with people from other countries our hosts prepare dinner. Soup, salad, tagines and fruits. Believe me you will not stay hungry! After that they will make some fire, drums, dancing, singing...if you just wanna be passive observer you can be. Lay down, watch the beautiful sky... Perfect!!! Time really go slowly here. Next day we had a good rich breakfast with mint tea or coffee at camp, and after that we took a ride with jeep. Visited berber/nomadic settlement, some old fossil mine, camel lake, and some pigeon local guys band and ended at swimming pool! Around 5pm Mohammed came to pick us, we thought oh great, no more camels, we are going back to camp with jeep! Hooray! But, no! We were designated to go back with camels. Ok, at that point nobody of us three didn't like that idea. We were still kind of tired from yesterday, and from the đ have energy for camels... But you know what!? Maybe first time w beas more physically painful (legs, tights, arms) and second time more psychic (sun, dehidration) but from my current point of view I wouldn't change It! Think, how many times in your life you have opportunity to tide camels twice in two days!? Exactly! It was so memorizing, this time only pur guide, three of us and 3-4 empty camels. Like a private tour! To cut long story short, you just check with Mohamed and Youseff and you will leave Sahara with really big smile on your face. Yes at some point it was difficult, sun will not spare you, but can say the best trip in my life! A+! All the best from Croatia, from Hrvoje, Martin and Mladen! 

Wonderful experiance!!! 

I have no words to describe the magic of this place. The riad is located in Merzouga, just 10 minute walk from the first amazing dunes of Er Chebbi which you can actually see from the window of your room. The owners, two brothers, Mohamed and Yussef, perfectly embody the kindness and hospitality of the Berber people. They do everything possible to make your staying unforgettable, from the decoration of the riad, that is absolutely lovely, to the food that is so delicious. They also organize excursions to the desert where you can stay overnight in beautiful, traditional tents that have being used by the nomads for centuries. You will have the chance to ride the camels in the dunes and wait for the sunset, seeing the colour of the sand slowly changing from the shades of orange to a deep red. After the dinner the guys of the camp play and sing the typical Berber music with the traditional drums and castanets. I totally recommend the experience, you won’t surely regret it. Desert Berber Fire Camp is one of the most charming place that I’ve seen in my life.

A magic place

We arrived late at the riad a group of 6 persones, including my 7 year old daughter. The staff received us with an open heart, and with an excelente meal. Next day we had the 4x4 trip of our lifes! Ismael, was a sport, he took us seeing the black sahara, the oasis, we had a berber meal in a tend, and cuddle the camels and goats. It was amazing. At the sun set we took a camel ride to see it over the dunes...no words to explain how beautiful it was. The camp was amazing, the tends very clean and spacious and the toillet facilities very good. We had a luxurious meal at dinner, and the stafrf was always asking if we needed anything else. We are comming back for sure, as we made friends at heart. Thank you Yousess, Isamel, Mohamed and all the staff. My daughter Ines (Fatima ;)) will remember that days forever!
