It's great.

Awesome Gîte. Friendly, clean, well priced. Hosts were awesome and super friendly, making great food and even a packed lunch for my hike. Well situated close to the start of some good hiking trails and the area is absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend a visit to Ouirgane and staying

Awesome gîte with very friendly owners

We stayed here with three motorcycles on a trip around Morocco. Eight days later we voted this place as having the tastiest and best food, the warmest welcome and the tidiest rooms of the whole trip. The owner even gave up one of his own family rooms to accommodate us!

Fantastic

Gite du Lac is a delightful place.

Ahmed doesn't speak any english (and to our shame we no french or arabic) but to his credit he quickly arranged a local guide and made us feel welcomed. 

We stayed for two nights and because of the traumatic experience we had at the Marrakech bus station (OMG!), he arranged our onward journey to Ouarzazete from the daily bus which passes through Ouirgane en route to Marrakech.

The meals were lovely and the hotel very tranquil. If you find yourself here without any french or Arabic, ask for Mohammed who worked wonders and organised a trek upinto the mountains and a home cooked rustic berber tagine in a humble rural farmhouse overlooking the ouirgane valley.

 

Great hospitality and very hygienic hotel

We had a pleasant stay at Gite du Lac. The service was good and the room/bathroom reasonably clean. However we eventually left with a bad taste in our mouth, as the owner charged us more than we had agreed. Despite our good experience, honesty is a minimum standard. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Overcharged

We stayed two nights at Gite du Lac. The beds are a bit hard, but the rooms are very clean and the place is quaint. But the best part is the fabulous hospitality of the host family. It's listed as a bed and breakfast, but it would best be called a bed and banquet! Excellent food and plenty of it, be it for dinner or breakfast. The tagine has to be some of the very best in the country. Right near a beautiful lake and a price that is a fraction of many other places in this beautiful village nestled in the Atlas Mountains.

Incredible hospitality!

What a wonderful surprise this little cottage was at the beginning of our epic trip to Tizi n test! A welcome worthy of kings! Ahmed and his entire family received us with all the warmth that comes with this fabulous country. We thank them all, from the comfortable and clean room to the rich and tasty breakfast to this sublime tajina cooked by madame.

We stayed one night in this lovely homestay - look beyond the humble building and discover what Morocco offers best in terms of hospitality! The owner and his family prepared us one of our best dinners in Morocco, and made sure we felt at ease. The rate was really affordable and is a great stop for backpackers looking for an authentic overnight. 

Hospitality at its best

It was a coincidence that we came across the Lake Gite on Tizi'n Test Road. What a great surprise! We were welcomed as kings within this family. For 800h we had all three rooms as well as dinner and breakfast (we were 5). Wi-Fi access was one of the best of our stay in Morocco. Despite the lack of heating in the three rooms, we had a great time. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, and what a delight to say about the food! A real treat - we felt like family guests at home. Let's try this intimate experience, you won't regret it!

Authentic Family Bed & Breakfast

The house is in picturesque Moroccan colors, the rooms are clean and pleasant and Ahmed the owner and his family do not know what to do for you and pleasant (in November foresee a warm pajamas!!!!) 300Dhm at night with a nice little dej and if you wish you can eventually have a dinner made by his wife..we spent a night before crossing the alley to Taroudant.region superbe.
