The lodge is amazing!  Vanessa, her husband and their staff are wonderful hosts and have created an incredible oasis in Skoura!  Sadly, we were unable to stay overnight as the lodge was fully booked, but based on the recommendation of a friend, we spent a day enjoying the pool and grounds, including truly amazing lunch and dinner.  Our favorite meals of our 10-day trip to Morocco! If you need a little break from the hectic travel schedule, try to arrive early so you can enjoy the grounds and pool before dinner! Note: it is a little off the beaten path, and GPS may not be accurate so I recommend you call for directions.

Oasis in Skoura

Welcomed warmly at the carved timber gate, we are invited into paradise! Within the walls, is a magical, garden, with alcoves and nooks, defined by various plants, rocks, outdoor furniture, cushions and rugs. Our room is a chic combination or rock and timber, with a generous bathroom and shower space, a separate toilet and a beautiful firm bed with white fine linen. The garden is an idyllic place of serenity and relaxation, the pool and surrounds, tasteful and refreshing. Whether a romantic dinner under the stars, or a delicious Al fresco breakfast, the food is excellent, the staff so friendly, creating, under the leadership of owner Vanessa, more of a relaxed family atmosphere, where stress melts away.

A zen paradise of relaxed chic

My husband and I went on this trip to Morocco to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, and L’Ma Lodge was where we spent 2 wonderful days. The lodge is in Skoura, located in an oasis, surrounded by a forest of date palms. The facility and the grounds are exquisitely designed to feed your senses: the colorful plants and flowers glittering in the morning dew, the wonderful bird songs, the various areas of colorful rugs and cushions that invite you to just plop down, stretch out to snooze or snuggle with your partner, the numerous chairs and benches under shady trees to provide a quiet place for resting, reading, contemplating or just zoning out.  All the meals were delicious, taken in a cosy eating area or if you prefer, al fresco. The gregarious general manager was very friendly and helpful. He tried to arrange for a cab to take us into town but none was available because it was market day and they were all likely put into service by folks who came from all around the area to shop at the souk. He called a friend who had a tok tok that was clearly used for transporting goods and not people but we happily rode it into town, giggling like kids. Along the way, local folks laughed and waved at us. The same manager also had the kitchen bake a heart-shaped cake to celebrate our anniversary. Unforgettable. Hats off to you, Madam Vanessa, you have created a unique lodge and surrounded yourself with an impressive staff.

Perfect place to celebrate an occasion . . . Or just chill!

L’Ma Lodge was a hidden gem of a place that surrounded us with beauty and comfortable accommodations. The food was amazing, every meal, for the two night stay. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the pool and bocci ball court. Outstanding hospitality!

Stay at L’Ma Lodge in Skoura

This place is just amazing. A true oasis in the desert! Wonderful gathering areas scattered around the grounds.  The rooms? Wow. And a pool to die for. To top it off, the staff is absolutely the best. They make you part of their family...and we truly felt that way. The food? Absolutely divine. 
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. More than a place to stay. It was an "experience ".

The best of our trip

We had dinner at this lodge.  We only saw it in the evening, when it was extremely beautiful.  But the gardens are amazing, and I'm sure it's equally lovely during the day.  Our dinner was fantastic, so if you're staying here, be confident that you'll have great food throughout your stay.  The dining service was topnotch, including their knowledge of wine.

Superb lodge and superb service and delicious meals. This is truly an oasis lodge with gorgeous decor and grounds and swimming pool.  The team, especially Sofaen and Abdullah Rahin, made our 3 day stay here magical.  Great value for such enjoyment.

Superb lodge and superb service

We have always wanted to visit the Moroccan desert and it soon became clear travelling there in August was not a good choice due to extreme heat.  Skoura seemed to be a good second option and how lucky were we to find L’Ma lodge and to read the Trip Advisor reviews that told us to stay a while- we had 3 perfect nights.  Tip: stay longer.  In summary:
1.  Breathtaking property and gardens and oh so elegant accomodation- the photos do not do it justice.  
2.  An amazing team of humans who provide gentle and engaging service and are so willing to share their passion for their home, culture and family.  Huge shout out to Sofian and Hakim.  
3.  A divine culinary experience- make sure you ask for the egg tagine for lunch but everything is sublime
4.  Hayder transported us from Marrakech to L’Ma lodge and back to Marrakech- organised by La’Ma lodge.  As a local Ouarzazatean he is a super safe driver and shared his deep knowledge of the Atlas Mountains.  He took us to a Bedouin family home for lunch- bucket list stuff.
5. The bike ride through the palmerie with a local tour guide was culturally enriching.  

We feel so rested and inspired by this experience.  Sad to leave .  We will be back!

L’Ma lodge.  Tip: stay longer!

Super friendly staff, and our room even got upgraded for free. They genuinely want to provide the best experience for their customers. For example, we texted the host if we could arrive one day earlier, unfortunately, they were fully booked, but he made sure we could stay at another super hotel, and even gave us a discount, he gave us the google maps of the hotel with 4 stops on the way for sightseeing! Their food was the best in Morocco, you can always ask for their recipes as we did!

Recommended!

This is the perfect place to stop after a day of traveling as we were from Marrakesh.  The property is absolutely beautiful and the pool a very welcome escape from the heat. Our room was large, clean, had a nice terrace for the evening and two showers - indoor and outdoor. All our meals were delicious. Special thank you to Soufiane, who made us feel very welcome, helped organize a bike excursion and who had his wife bake us a delicious 10th anniversary cake.  Thank you!!  We will be back!
