My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Gîte Imarin over four nights. The gîte is situated in a lovely valley and just next to a stream which you can hear from the terrace while enjoying some tea in the sunshine. The place is also situated next to a path which leads to other villages in the valley or up into the mountains. Four days was perfect for us as it gave us time to visit the local market, some of the historic buildings, dinosaur paths and enjoy nature. 

We had some really delicious home cooked food throughout our stay as we had booked half board. Some of the vegetables for the tagine came from the vegetable garden. There was also a roaring fire burning every night which was great as the temperature drops at night in March. While the place is relatively basic we enjoyed good food, comfortable beds, a lovely welcoming host and some lovely nature. 

We hope to return.

A wonderful stay!

The place was hospitable and the staff  very friendly. We have had a good time, food was good and the guide knew a lot of history and the interesting places in Ait Bouguemez.I recommend this place for all people who want to have a genuine experience in the Atlas mountains.

Visit to Gite Imarin

I highly recommend  « Gite Lmarin » for those who love simple but cozy and heart warming places.
The staff is great , the local food is delicious and the view is breathtaking !👌🏼

My partner and I met Mohammad when we came to the Ait Bougmez valley to go hiking. Mohammad kindly agreed to be our guide when we turned up at the last minute on a public holiday (Eid). The valley is very beautiful and I would definitely recommend visiting. And if you come to visit Ait Bougmez then Gite Imarin is a lovely place to stay. We only stopped here for lunch but it was by far the nicest place we saw during our four days in the area. 

The hike was the highlight of our trip to Morocco. We started in Tabant and walked through the valley, stopping on the way for a HUGE lunch and a siesta at Gite Imarin. After lunch we walked on to Arouz. On the way we walked through an impressive gorge and saw a big soccer match. We stayed the night at a Gite in Arouz. 

The next morning we hiked over Jebel Tafenfant. It was awesome to get up into the mountains and even though we were away from everything Mohammad and the muleteer, Joseph, still put on an impressive lunch and provided us with sleeping mats so we could have a siesta under the trees. That night we stayed in Rougoult with a local family. It was really interesting getting to see inside the mud houses and how families live up here. The following day we walked to Abachkou and stayed at a Gite there.

We were so glad that Mohammad was there on the trip with us. He spoke very good Arabic/Berber/French/Spanish but limited English. Despite this, we managed to get with my limited Spanish and Mohammad was always friendly and informative and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. I would highly recommend him as a guide!

I spent some nights at the Imarin, it was just awsome people are friendly and willing to help and give all the advise someone might need 

MOMO is doing everything to make his guests feel confortable and with Mohamed they are just great

We stayed in Gite Imarin before and after our trek to Mount M'Goun.
We arrived after a long and tiring journey, with my husband having food poisoning. Mohamed and his brother Ibrahim welcomed us very heartily. They prepared two dinners: a bland one for my husband and the regular one for me. All food was excellent (also on the other nights): wonderful soup, main course and dessert.
The room was nicely decorated and the toilet and shower was clean and had enough water (not everywhere in Morocco).
The Gite is situated away from the main road inbetween fruit and walnut trees and fields. It's a very nice and quiet place. We were sorry that we only stayed 3 nights, because it would also be a good spot to stay some days and make day trips. We could leave our car at the Gite even though we had booked the trekking with another company. Nevertheless, Mohamed was so nice to provide us with a map which we could take with us for the trekking.
He also let us taste his home-made honey and was a really wonderful host.

Wonderful hospitality

The gites is situated in the valley of Ait Bougmez.It is clean and comfortable, the meals are excellent and the owner Mohammed is an excellent guide who has studied at the training school for mountain guides in Tabant and is one of the few guides who is qualified for summer, winter climbing and ski treks.We have done five treks with him in various parts of Morocco. A great place to stay and a great guide to have.Thanks Momo!!
