Though this seems to be a rather new place, I'm glad we found it. Golden Fish Motel is located outside the city across a bridge, giving it a pleasant and quiet atmosphere. Yet it is not too far from everything we needed, and most parts of the city were just a short walk away. The owner of the motel is a quiet lady who is helpful with tourist information and directions. She also rents bicycles for 2000 kyats a day. 

The rooms were clean and met our expectations. When we discovered a slight flooding problem in one of our rooms, they were willing to upgrade us immediately. We also requested for a place to stay after our checkout time, and they happily obliged with a new room, allowing us to use fresh towels for a shower before our overnight bus.

Breakfast was tasty and sumptuous, more than we needed to start off the day.

Perfect location, great host, great rooms

The restaurant offered a nice atmosphere (covered and uncovered tables), free/fast WiFi, good food, a large variety of drinks. Restaurant was clean. Decent prices for some stuff. Service was good. Good, clean bathrooms.

Didn't stay at hotel but restaurant good

We stayed in Golden Fish Motel for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The motel is very well-located, near the main area of town but slightly away from the main road so it's peaceful. The rooms are also well-furnished and cosy. There were some issues with the bathrooms, poor wifi and slow breakfast service, but overall the staff were very helpful and accommodating. 

We were also able to rent bicycles there to go to the nearby villages. The landlady is able to recommend good places to visit if you ask her.

Great location, cosy rooms

Room is really nice though bathroom is quite small. I had to wait for hot shower for 15mins but after that it worked very well. Breakfast is poor and service is slow bcoz there were only 2 very young girls (look like 16 years old) who do both of reception and breakfast.

Ok for short stay

Very nice motel with great location, plus the room was clean and spacious.

However, breakfast was quite poor and we did have a lot of 'problems' (Wi-Fi not working, they did overbooking so we didn't have a room for at least 3 hours after we arrived, bathrooms were not cleaned, laundry wasn't ready on time, our bus was booked at the wrong time........)

You definitely need to be very calm and not in a rush to choose Myanmar in general :)
