We were initially unsure about this campsite but on exploring, we parked at campsite 9 and had a stunning spot with fantastic views. The private bathroom and washing facilities were great. We didn't pre-order food so catered for ourselves and enjoyed the fire!

Stunning landscape

It was such a pleasure to arrive at this beautifully situated camp after a long drive. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The safari tents were very private with a lovely outlook. The pool, hammocks, sunset walk and food were great

Desert Oasis

Worst stay! We had a splendid time at each of our accommodations throughout Namibia on our 3 week trip, and THIS please were the only experience that has left a bitter taste in our mouth. My cutlery was dirty (apart from the dinner being way late and food very basic), so I've asked for clean cutlery, which I got, but with a stinky attitude! The next morning we had beefy looks from the, I suppose, manager and other staff, and were served breakfast as if a cat dragged is in. What an uncomfortable experience! Other than that, the stay was fine, yet very remote. This could have been a great stay but in reality we could not wait to just depart! They definetly need to look into staff issues, this is NOT a way to treat a guest!

Best campsite we've been in Namibia...actually one of the most beautiful places we've been while there. Stunning views, very remote and private but with good services. 
great area to chill out in the pool and by the bar, incredible set up for the dinner (which incidentally was ne of the best we had there).

Don't miss it!

We did stay in one of the safaritents. It's a must have experience! Bathroom is outside under the open sky. Tents are basic with a bed (that's all you need) The pool was very crowded when we arrived (there's a camping aswell) and not to many loungers. Dinner and breakfast are basic (dinner very good) would suggest adding something extra for breakfast (cheese or meat or jam)

Pleasant stay in damaraland 

This was such a nice surprise when we arrived there.  It is located in a beautiful area on the way to Twyfelfontein  with granite outcrops, and the tents are tucked away with great outlooks and cute outdoor bathrooms.   Reception, the bar, and the pool area is very inviting and charming in a basic way. The managers are there to assist where they can.  Forget all the luxuries and amenities in the luxury lodges and enjoy the nature and simplicity of the basics of being out in the bush.  It's one of the places where we wished we could have stayed longer to unwind.

Lovely camp

Camping site in the middle of rock hills. Superb views. The site is very well decorated, vintage style, large camping places isolated from each other for the most, with lots of trees to protect you from the sun, make your own fire to heat the shower and cook your food, shower while watching the stars. Climb on the rocks to watch the sunset and the marvelous scenery and in the morning, start our one day drive to track the desert elephants with Joseph, a nice, pleasant, humble savvy guide, who can thrill you with stories about the animals, but also the plants and people. You end up watching and following a heard of elephants and cannot believe your eyes. THANK YOU JOSEPH!

Exceptional camping site! Great Guide! Thanks Joseph!

Brilliant place with great hosts, food and relaxed poolside vibe but the best thing about Madisa Camp is the chance to see the desert-adapted elephants. It means an early start and a chilly, bumpy drive but it is worth it to get so close to these amazing animals. Joseph, our guide, was brilliant and we felt completely safe even though the family were obviously serious about protecting the small baby.
The facilities and food are good, don't miss out on enjoying a dinner of brai or potjie amongst a jumble of rocks under twinkly lights and a beautiful sky.

Great place, good foo, amazing elephants!

This was a great experience. The facilities are great although do not expect luxury. The location and experience make up for any discomfort . The staff were excellent and the Manager and his wife could not have been more helpful . We went on an Elephant tracking trip which was fantastic and our driver and guide, Carlos, was very knowledgeable and a great asset to the organisation.  

The Desert.

Loved Madisa Camp.   Oddly quirky but delightful.   Set in the most fabulous scenery - boulders all around with everything built into them:  the dining area, the bar and your tents.   
The tents are simple but unique in that you unzip the rear of the tent to enter your open air bathroom - enclosed by boulders.  Hot shower, sink, toilet, all set into the boulders!  Great fun.   Note that there is no electricity but they do connect solar charged batteries so you have lights in and around your tent.  You can leave devices to be charged at reception during the day too.

The pool is not a swimming pool - more a dipping pool, and, to be honest not appealingly clear.     The bar is lovely, set up as an old half a VW van against the rocks.    The food for breakfast and dinner was very nice although a limited choice - but that is fine for a remote camp like this.    I would certainly go back.
We did a great trip with driver/guide from Madisa tracking the desert adapted elephants - recommend this.   Twylefontein is also only an hour away so a good day out too.
I can recommend this camp.
