We stayed here with friends while we planned to see Thamel at Christmas. The rooms were clean and nice, and friendly and attentive staff members,  Located in a prime location and good value for money.

Best budget guest house in Thamel

I was in Nepal for a week. When i searched trip advisor lot of the people were recommending Thamel. Since I was budget one of my acquaintaince referred Imperial Guest House and I booked for 2 nights from booking.com
The best part about my stay was, this place is a hidden gem since it is located away from noisy Thamel. We found this place welcoming since it is family run. It has wifi, hot and cold shower. Beds are clean, rooms are cozy. This is exactly what I was searching for on a tight budget. Restaurant is not available within the premises, however if you walk few steps you will find multiple shops and restaurants. 
Lastly donot miss the terrace of the guesthouse if you would like to chill and read books, enjoy sun and drinks.
Its only 6kms from Tribhuwan International Airport. Garden of dreams was a lovely place to visit, only 300 meters from the Guest House.

Great place and locality.

I was in trouble because my luggage did not reach the airport. 
The master of this guest house helped me. I stayed at a cheap price. 
He watched quietly until the incident was resolved.
 Master's wife comforted me. The hot tea got in my heart.
 I will never forget their kindness.

I often come to Nepal. Imperial Guest house is really well located (central thamel). This is a peaceful area. The guesthouse is a family run. We can sense the Family feeling. That makes me enjoy my multiple stay at imperial. They are really friendly and dedicated to make our stay comfortable. I recommend.

Great location and great people at Imperial Hotel

Stayed here while visiting Kathmandu. This hotel was a great experience and is family run. Jai welcomed us and provided a lot of great suggestions during our stay when we asked. The hotel was generally clean, safe and had hot water which was nice with the weather.  WiFi works around the hotel but you may also want to get a Sim for your phone or download maps before you go so you can use your gps. The area by the hotel is great and provides easy access to a lot of the city. You can’t really beat the pricing for your stay. We will be back again. 

The specific location of the guest house is in Thamel which is a great area and close to a lot of awesome sites in the city. Right outside your door are a lot of shops and restaurants so you can get all local food and goods to bring back home with you. There are also some really excellent old temples within the area. ATMs are close should you need it. Within walking distance, about 10 minutes, is the garden of dreams which was beautiful and also the Royal Palace. Durbar Marg (Palace Road) by the Palace also has a lot of higher end shops/resturaunts and some chains like Pizza Hut if you want something like that. There are a ton of tour excersion shops in the area and if you want to do something extreme or just tour some of the further away areas it’s quite easy to do. Just ask the staff to direct you to a shop so you can book something.

Great Family Run Hotel and Area.

All in all it was really great and I would recommend it. The location was quiet and nice. The Guesthouse is in the centre of Kathmandu so from there it was easy to go to all places. Another advantages are the free Wifi and clean water. The staff was friendly, good and really helpful. I spent a great time there and would do it again!

Great time, great staff, great guesthouse

The hotel is in a peaceful part of thamel. Good Sleep, clean water, friendly staff. I enjoyed my time here. They have really taken good care of me. 24 hour hot water and clean rooms. They provided me and family with extra quilt when we needed. I enjoyed my time. I recommend it.
