This hotel has a wonderful courtyard, giving you a relaxing space to enjoy bird songs while writing postcards. It also gives you a safe space if the rhinos and elephants choose to run down the street. The rooms were equipped with ceiling fan, aircon, and mosquito nets. We slept like babies on the comfortable beds and the food provided was delicious and filled our bellies to the Max. 

We did the 3 day package and did all the activities. I recommend this because it requires no thinking you have everything planned out for you and the meals are prechoosen as well.

The guide was knowledgable and kind. Saying if you are happy I am happy. He always checked that we were enjoying ourselves and safe. 

Wonderful Guide and Effortless

The hotel was clean and everyone was very friendly.
Ganesh was a joy to spend time with, he guided us around, took us birdwatching and was enormously attentive.
We really enjoyed our time here immensely.

Very welcoming 

All of the staff at the Tiger Residency were friendly and helpful and they made us so welcome from the minute we arrived.  The guide was just fabulous, going way beyond his remit of taking us to the elephant conservation site, bird watching on the river, to a cultural evening event and to see the sunset over the river. He gave us a personal tour of the village around the hotel and introduced us to a local group who were celebrating an 84th birthday.  He then waited patiently while we were invited to join the dancing and meet everyone at the party. The kitchen staff made food especially for us and brought us lassi and tea on the veranda.  The hotel itself is excellent, with hot rainfall showers, a beautiful tranquil garden setting, good wifi and balconies outside each room for relaxing in the shade.

We stay here for 3 nights, the place itself was quite nice, the food was excellent prepared by the chef. The man serving our food and taking our orders was amazing. He would see us coming and prepare our Masala tea order as that was our favourite drink, he has the most welcoming smile. The other staff are also very friendly and love a chat!

However the highlight was one of the staff and our personal jungle and safari guide Mukunda Aryal. Mukunda took us for a number of activities throughout the 4 days. He was extremely knowledgeable and loved all the animals in the park. We were originally unsure about seeing the elephants tied up but Mukunda ensured us that they were walked for 6-8hrs a day and are taken great care of!

Mukunda has a real passion for tigers, during our jungle walk he was very eager to find a tiger for us. He always was aware and could spot any animal from a while away. 

We traveled for a 6 week period and this trip, mainly due to Mukunda was in the top three activities that we did.

If you are up for an adventure, and to stay in a hotel where a local rhino chooses to causally walk through, this place and Mukunda are two things you can’t go without!

We will 100% be back.

Perfect trip

The place has a very good location and an excellent service. The room was big, clean and comfortable. I want to highlight the good attention given by the people that worked there, especially Mukunda, Hem, and Surya. I totally recommend it!

Great service and guides

The price is excellent IF you book without a coordinator ;) We stayed at the Tiger Residency because our tour guide booked us here. The hotel was a fresh of breath air after finishing our hike to EBC. A warm bedroom, comfortable bed, warm showers! Yes, I was happy. Our meals were included with the package. Tea, coffee and water were also included. The downfall with the package is that they only had one option, which meant you still visited the elephant riding museum or the elephants that are chained for the governmental park patrol. The jeep safari guides are chosen by the government and sometimes they are not great. This guide is not the same as you get with the resort. This, of course, is not the fault of the resort and every hotel has to abide by this.  

Now, the walking/river safari guide, Saroj Khanal, IS A GEM! He clearly loves the jungle as he grew up in it. He has so much information so do make sure to ask questions! He was kind enough to have a coffee with us and tell us more about himself. Great guy, and if we are to visit Chitwan again I would stay wherever he is guiding! He was the highlight of our trip.

Everything was good, service was good, food was good, the garden was nice. I did think the manager gave off a "full of myself" vibe, but that didn't affect our experience.

And they are all praises for Nepal, its culture, the civilization, and discipline but mostly for how friendly and helpful the people are.

Way to go guys. If I had to rate, I'll rate 10/10. And would surely recommend to all my friends and family. :)

Great Experience, Superb Services, A Must Visit Resort

It is a about a 7-10 minute walk to the center of town, but that helps to give a a quieter feeling. The grounds are very nice, and staff helpful. I was alone and ended up booking guides elsewhere once I found some people, but had I been in a group I might have booked at the hotel. Room cleaning was a bit inconsistent, but the bathroom was very clean and it had good hot water. The first day I got a set breakfast which was fine, and after requesting they allowed me to change it the second day for muesli and yogurt (curd). Booking in Kathmandu/Pokhara may be more convenient, but I am pretty sure you save 10-30% if you book once you arrive in Sauraha.

Quiet option

I stayed 4 nights at the Tiger Resiency Resort in Chitwan. It’s very quiet a bit outside of Chitwan with a big garden. The manager Sandesh and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I did canoe riding, jungle tour, Elefant riding and Jeep safari.
