I stay AT thé butterfly hostel for one night and Sunil was a perfect Host, very helpful. Really taking Care of His guest. His place is liké a paradise, very quiet, and super clean . And yes, the food, also super tasty. You Can also book all your activities with him. National Park IS very close to his hostel

Chitwan national park

We came to Chitwan only for 2 days. When we left the bus just to find a herd of guides or lodge owners trying to convince us to go to their places. We chose the hotel Butterfly because their guide was the most transparent with their prices. They offered us the drive and after checking the place we were convinced to stay. The owner was truly friendly and helpful. He Helped us to organise the little time we had there.

The hotel has a beatiful and romantic garden with wooden huts, many flowers and butterflies around. 
The rooms were clean and above the bed there were the mosquito nets, anyway our friends did not use it for the night as all the windows had built-in nets.

The water is luke warm, however my husband had a nice, warm shower.
I did not mind about the water because the room temperature was good enough and I already knew it is a common issue in this area, if not in the whole country.

The food was tasty and cheap (from 150 to 300 rupees).

The day we arrived they orginised for us a free walking tour guided by Bishal. We were already lucky to see one Rhino, monkeys, deers and many birds. 

We had chosen with them the full day walk in the jungle with canoeing in the morning
 and staying for the night in the tower house by the river.
We had two very nice guides Ganesh and Bishal. Both were very competent and knew a lot about the different species of bird and animals in the Park.
We had the chance to see rhinos, many crocodiles, wild boars, monkeys, langurs, Jakals, snake, many deers, birds, and people on elephants😜 I think I also saw a little leopard. 

The price for the night tower stay was rather expensive 4500 rupees, but for us, nature lovers, was truly worth it. We had the whole Tower just for the 4 of us plus our guides. The rooms were clean, toilet, and basic shower outdoor without courtines.
Anyway it's not a luxury stay but an unique experience with the sound of nocturnal animals and insects. From that tower we had view to the river and crocodiles taking rest and in the dark we were watching the flying fire bugs. 
For the dinner they brought us curry veggy with rice and eggs. It was really yummy. We were actually expecting something simple.

In the morning we had the bus back to Kathmandu. They made sure we made it in time. We Even had time for breakfast.

It was a great experience and definitely it is a place to come back again.

Friendly environment and budget stay for travelers

The hotel is located in a quiet Area but still only a few minutes walking distance from everything you need
Are room was big and clean 
The staf especially Bishal was very nice and helpful 
And assisted us with everything that we needed

Good value for your money

A Jeep dropped us there after we arrive in bus from Pokhara, supposed to be the tourist information center we started asking questions about the national park. To make the long story shot, the end up selling us a jungle walking package under the name of “butterfly hotel”. From The two guides that came with us, one didn’t speak English at all and the other one we could barely understand with A LOT of effort. The jungle walk wasn’t good at all,
All day walking through the Jeep tracks (full of jeeps making noise). We saw a rhino st 5 in the afternoon when we where heading back to our acommodation. When we gave the feedback to the person who was supposed to be the tourist information center (that we realize late that was working for the hotel) he was very angry because of our feedback and didn’t want to talk to us and walked out. 
My recommendation is to check 2 or 3
Options before a booking something and make sure that your guides have experience and at least talk some English. 


Bad service

Amazing stay... great for Backpackers. We saw rhinos the first 4 hours there after taking a short complementary tour along the river. We then arranged a walking safari for the next day. The hotel staff were wonderful, beautiful location, near everything. They arranged our transport back to pokhara and made sure we had lunches and breakfasts for the day. 

Great trip

After the man in charge couldn't / wouldn't match the safari tour price we had been quoted elsewhere, our treatment was very icy, hostile even. He also ripped us off on the bus charge back to Kathmandu. We paid 900, when other customers on board quoted 600. But we needed a lift back to the bus from the hotel so had no other choice. 
The mattress was pretty hard and the water in the shower was never more than lukewarm (natural summer heat from the pipes?).
The free welcome walk around the area with a friendly and informed guide from the hotel was a nice start. 
Nice stay in a wooden hut with lush, chilled garden with a small terrace area in each room. Plenty of character. Away from the main strip, so quiet.
Wifi only worked in the restaurant and reception area.

Be aware of Mr Grumpy!

This place has a jungle lodge feel. The rooms are a good size, comfortable and the shower hot. There were cobwebs in the bathroom but that goes with the territory & at £7 a night who cares. The situation is good, close to the river & jungle activities, bars & restaurants etc. but a bit dark at night.
