The B&B is well located, restaurants and bars nearby, the city centre is 20-30 minutes walking. 

The owner, Joost, is a super host. He is very considerate, generous, helpful and knowledgeable. You are pampered with little details like a bottle of wine in the fridge when you arrive. He even carried our bags up and down the steep stairs to our room. Honestly, he's one of the best hosts we've been in contact with.

The room was perfect with a king size bed, super comfortable, like sleeping on a puffy cloud. The toilet is separate from the room, but it wasn't inconvenient for us. 

The breakfast is amazing!

Amazing stay and host

From the host to the amenities and location, this place should be at the top of your list. Joost kept a perfect house and made wonderful breakfast. The third floor room, while perhaps tricky to navigate to if you're not used to narrow stairs, was well appointed, quiet and clean. Will definitely stay there again.

The best BnB experience you may ever have

My husband and I stayed at the delightful Barangay B & B on Herenstraat in Amsterdam this September. It is centrally situated, close to major museums such as Rijksmuseum and the Anne Frank Huis. The street it’s on has a number of good restaurants and neat cafes with some street-side seating. Our host, Sharon, was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfasts were ample, varied and fresh—and were even delivered to our room. There are some characteristically Dutch long stairs to climb , but Sharon carried our suitcases up and down so all went well. We highly recommend this personalized home away from home.

Cozy character Barangay B & B in Amsterdam with 5-star service

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights while touring Amsterdam. We were immediately happy with our choice as Joost is a fabulous host and his B&B is located in a beautiful area!
We love to be a little outside the crazy, touristy areas and this hit the spot! You could easy walk to anywhere and there were plenty of great food options within a half mile of the B&B.
Joost is so helpful and prepares a delicious breakfast each morning! He is happy to provide suggestions and help you navigate wherever you are trying to go see.
The room itself was a great space. Plenty of room and very nicely furnished and renovated! The shower and sink were great and the toilet located just across the hall. The stairs going up are definitely steep but there is a good handrail and it's what's you expect for the architecture in Amsterdam.
Highly suggest to anyone stopping through Amsterdam!


Perfect location and wonderful stay!

Everything about this B&B was just fab! Joost was the ultimate host, and made us feel at home immediately - he's truly one of those people who was born to work in hospitality, a real people person. 
As for his knowledge of the city - it was second to none. He gave us some top recommendations of cocktail bars (particularly Spirits & Tales), really interesting museums, and an amazing restaurant called Haesje Claes that served traditional, delicious Dutch food! 
Re the B&B, Joost's attention to detail was fantastic - our room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable and there were lovely little touches like a bottle of wine and a slice of homemade strawberry cake waiting for us in the fridge. On all three mornings, Joost made us both a hot breakfast with yummy Dutch cheese, eggs and ham, just the way we wanted it - it was an ace way to start a day of sightseeing!
The neighbourhood was also really nice, with lots of independent shops, restaurants and bars, as well as a tram stop that takes you into the city centre and to the main train station (although we didn't use it, as the centre is only a 20-minute walk away). 
We honestly couldn't have had a better time - it was without a doubt our best weekend away together yet.
