We had such an excellent stay at the Crown Guesthouse.  Our room was very clean, quiet and so very comfortable.  It was also rather large for Amsterdam, which was nice.  And no shortage of natural light in the main area, which was also uniquely decorated in a way that matched the vibe of the building.  We truly appreciated the that the fridge was stocked with drinks and that their was plenty of coffee pods and a few other goodies.  Angelo, who is an amazing host, not only helped us with a set of luggage up the steep stairs but took the time to provide tips on where to go when exploring.  For restaurants nearby, (only a few steps away) I recommend "The Yeti", if you enjoy Indian & Napali cuisine.  Overall, the location is perfect for exploring.  For a first timer in Amsterdam it was a very convenient location, including the short walk to and from Amsterdam Central station.  If we return one day, we would most definitely rebook The Crown Guesthouse.

Perfect stay

We had the most wonderful stay at the Crown Guesthouse! ! It’s in a great location close to everything.   Angelo is a fantastic host, very easy to talk to. He was extremely accommodating and gave great advice on restaurants and what to go and see. I highly recommend a stay here and will be sure to return!

Great host, great location!

What a find! A wonderfully spacious, immaculately clean, quiet room (we took the big room at the back of the building), perfectly located for almost everything within easy walking distance. Angelo is an impeccable, friendly host and, as first time visitors to Amsterdam, took the time to talk us through various locations in the city and how to get around, which was really helpful. The room had absolutely everything we needed or wanted and the shower was excellent. There is also an oversized whirlpool bath!

Fantastic! Why stay anywhere else?

Crown Guesthouse (Previously called Crown Bed & Breakfast  is indeed a wonderful place to stay if you were to visit Amsterdam.  My wife and I visited Amsterdam for the first time and we decided to stay here after reading so many great reviews about this place.  We felt so welcome even before we arrive here.   The fantastic host Angelo has been so helpful and resourceful.  He told us in advance on how to get from Amsterdam Central station to the address and that makes our navigating so much easier.  He even helped to carry our heavy luggage up the narrow and steep staircase to the 3rd level where the room is located.  The room with attached bath & shower room is so cozy & spacious.  The deco is superb and the bed is so comfortable to sleep in.  It is ideally located within the centre of Amsterdam Old Town, and major attractions are all within walking distances.  Highly recommended if you are looking for a great place to stay in Amsterdam.

A place away from Home, but feels like Home

I booked this accommodation last minute and got so lucky that I found this place. The rooms are very cozy and clean and you get some beverages and fruits supplementary. The location is great and the host very kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Super cozy!

Wonderful accommodations for a couple in town for a few days or more. Angelo is an amazing host; very helpful with luggage (needed), attentive to daily needs and room cleanliness, and available whenever we needed him. He also helped us find our way around Amsterdam, telling us how to use the trams, and what to expect as we explored the city. 

Great location and accommodations for exploring Amsterdam! 

Unique guesthouse in the heart of dam central, Angelo our host was very welcoming and made sure we was well looked after prior to checking-in and throughout our stay. The stairs can be a challenge but as long as your fit and healthy you have nothing to worry about. Our room was clean and spacious. Angelo also provided us with  complementary drinks and snacks which was a nice touch.

Great location, great host, perfect for couples

Great hotel, perfect location, and wonderful stay. Very spacious rooms and very attentive and personalized service by Angelo. We highly recommend a stay here. The stairs are narrow and steep, but not an issue if you are reasonably healthy. Besides, Angelo will help carry your baggage.

Wonderful Place to Stay!

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Crown Guesthouse during my visit to Amsterdam. Angelo - one of the owners - was a charming and helpful gentleman. He was responsive to my inquiries and helped me carry my luggage through the classic Dutch-style, narrow and steep staircase to the third floor where my room was located. He also recommended some cafes and restaurants in the area for authentic Dutch food and drinks.

The place was walking distance from the major attractions: 5-10 minutes to the nearest tram, 10 minutes to the Anne Frank House, 10 minutes to Dam Square, 15 minutes to the Red Light District, and 20 minutes to the LGBT area. Most importantly, it was only 10-15 minutes to the Amsterdam Centraal, so somehow the place could be reached from Schiphol Airport "by train and foot". There were plenty of restaurants, "coffeeshops", cafes (the real coffee shops), bars, souvenir stores, and supermarkets/groceries in the neighborhood. A tattoo parlor was just at the ground floor. There was a bit of some noise in the evening because the place was right by the road, but that added more to the experience and did not bother my sleep at all. Outside the room - the common area, there were complimentary pastries and fruits.

I had the 1-bed, nonsmoking double room which was spacious and clean, with comfortable bed, pillows and blankets, functioning hot showers, temperature control, table and chair, sofa, cabinet, and other basic amenities such as electric kettle, nespresso machine and fridge. I was likewise given a bottle of white wine, orange and apple juice tetra packs, a pack of mini stroopwafels, beer in can, and bottled water as welcome items. The tap water was potable, too.

I highly recommend the Crown Guesthouse to everyone travelling to Amsterdam, especially first timers. To Angelo, maraming salamat from Manila, Philippines!

Ideal Place in Amsterdam

Our stay with Angelo was spectacular. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean, and this was the best located location in Amsterdam. I would recommend it to anyone (as long as you can climb three steep flights of stairs).  Both the treats that were regularly left out, as well as the great recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, I cannot recommend this bnb enough.
