It was our first time in Amsterdam and this was the first place we stayed at. A bit difficult to find at the first place as our flight landed so late in the evening. But the host, he has been waiting for us and found us :) we felt so welcomed and warm. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We got the canal view which is really nice. The next morning, we found that it was so easy the get to the place, either by tram, walk, or taxi. The area is quiet, but very close to many interesting places, such as Anne's house. You can also walked from there to Centraal station. We will stay here again if we got to Amsterdam. Thanks the host (I am so sorry that i couldn't recall his name. He was so kind to us) 

Feel like home

Really relaxed, quiet area, love the view of the canals, not very far from city centre actually a walking distance! Shops near by to to buy all necessities. Room is also very large and enough space for luggage and all belongings 

Relaxed and nice view 

First of all the place was a very nice stay and was in a row house looking off a canal.  It was a 25 minute walk from the train station and dragging rolling suit cases along the gablestone was rather loud.  You can catch a bus or taxi there which may be easier if you don't want to do the walk.

Location overall is pretty good.  On the edge of the central part of the city but easily walkable into the city every day.  There is a trolley station near the hotel which you can take into the city center.

Meeting up to get the keys was simple and only required a small wait and the owner was very nice.  The stairs are very steep getting to the room and so if you have any mobility issues you might want to look elsewhere.

The room we had gave a full view of the canal and had an attached shower but the bathroom was in the hallway.  The shower had hand soap for the sink but no shampoo or condition so bring your own.  We also found the bed to be rather hard and the pillows as well.  

We also had problems controlling the temperature in the room.  A couple of nights it was much too hot but the last night we couldn't get the heat to kick on at all.  Overall we didn't sleep great which was the biggest knock on the room.

In general a good place to stay with a few caveats.
