Stayed in this pretty nice BnB for 3 nights in first weekend of March with family n pet. Chose the bigger pet friendly suite on 1st floor (#15). Overall a nice stay, good friendly owners, will surely choose again. 
Its just before the beginning of the main street of DeKoog, which is full of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops n what not. A Jumbo and Lidl around the corner. DeKoog beach is a 15 min walk. The loop bus 28 which goes around the island from ferry point stos in front of the hotel on way from ferry, while towards ferry, the bus stop is 5 min walk,in front of Grand Hotel Opduin. Plenty eating options within 200 mtrs on the main Dorpstraat. 
Pros:
- very nice rooms, comfortable mattresses, clean and efficient bathroom, mini fridge.
Cons: Breakfast pretty basic, have had better ones for that price. A microwave oven in the kitchenette will be helpful.

When staying in De Koog go to Strandplevier.
The suites are all as good as new, freshly painted, fresh smelling, great location, 200 meters from the dunes and the sea and very close to De Koog, where there are lots of shops and restaurants. Strandplevier suites also serves a great breakfast for a very reasonable price! 
The owners are very nice and helpful. So when looking for a place to stay go to Strandplevier suites. 

Great place to stay when in Texel

This centrally located hotel is clean and the rooms/ appartments are spacious enough. Unfortunately this is a very profit driven and utmost cost savings oriented place. 
The guests are requested to drop the bed sheets on the floor, empty the trash bins in the room and do the dishes and place them back in the shelf before checking out! 

Further on you get only one garbage bag for your entire stay, if you need more you have to go beg at the almost always empty reception ( on Sundays only from 10 a.m. till noon).

It is a functional place where no extra care was given to make guests feel welcome or to create a cozy atmosphere. 

The Ryanair among hotels

although right on the corner of downtown De Koog main crossroads, it's  a very, very quiet apartment-hotel.
The rooms are spacious and very, very clean.
We also used the Sauna, which was a delight experience.

My wife and and visited Texel for the first time last week and elected to stay at this hotel as they offered a competitive price due to reno's presently going on. The rooms are small (unable to do my morning stretches) but very clean and this hotel is very central to the going's on. The bus stop is almost right in front of the hotel and the people running the place are very friendly. I found the continental breakfast that  was included excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean and Friendly

We left from Den Helder's harbour with the ferryboat, directly with bus 28 and we reached "Hotel de Strandplevier" ,situated in De Koog on the wonderful island of Texel.
This Hotel is situated at 50mt from the centre (where you can find restaurants, shops, supermarket ,renting bycicle and everything you may need) and at 10minutes from the beach by walk.
We have really been positively struck by simplicity and, at the same time, by the carefulness of this place. 
Clean and confortable room with a private bathroom; breakfast, included in our reservation, a buffet with a wide choice of salty and sweet foods.
The owners, kind and friendly ,always available for each our request.
We recommend the stay in this hotel and enjoy the holiday in this amazing island!

Amazing Texel!

We stayed in this hotel for one night and did not have positive expectations because we were informed about the upcoming refurbishment of the hotel. Upon our arrival we found out that the refurbishment had been posponed and we could stay relatively good i this hotel. Clean room and bathroom and very good breakfast for a two star. We could park our car on the premises and could even stay there after our checkout, so we could cycle the island for another day. Our compliments for the owners and lots of success during the refurbishment activities.
