We were only 2 days on Texel on short notice, so we chose this hotel and were very positively surprised. The check-in process was very personal with a welcome drink, which gave us time to arrive mentally. Its located next to a small pond and the view is like a fairy tale. The staff went the extra mile to get us a room we really liked.
The next decision was wheter half-board or not, we had dinner the evening we arrived at the hotel, and we were 100% convinced that half-board is worth its money. Coming fron Dubai we are a bit spoiled when it comes to restaurants. This chef here met all our expectations and the 3 course dinner was amazing, every evening!
Also the hotel is nicely located to go for stroll in the evening to De Koog or start your cycling tours. They actually have bicycles at the hotel.
Good choice, rooms are a bit expensive, but thats Texel! 

Amazing half-board dinner and nice location 

Our stay at Tatenhove for a weekend was very pleasant. The rooms are very spacious and clean ( we had three rooms).  It's a pity we couldn't enjoy the beautiful gardens due to rain. 
The staff was also very accommodating and friendly. We highly recommend this hotel.

Nice place to stay

I traveled with my friend and experienced one of the awful staying experiences ever. At the breakfast, I ordered cup of coffee & tea and milk since I was thirty in the morning. I unfortunately I could not finish my coffee and one of the hotel staffs complained about I could not finish my drinks. I understand I ordered three drinks is too much so I apologize that I had to leave my coffee when she complained it but she completely ignored my apologies and just showed me her angry face. It was the experience in the morning on 20th July and I felt not pleasant already in the morning. I do not understand why such unpleasant staff is working at hotel industry. They should listen the guests, should not just complain the guest behaviours.

Service is awful

Visited in May and again in June. 
Good hotel, with a perfect location. Surrounded by nature, within walking distance to the centre and to the beach. 
Breakfast is good and they are doing their best in these special Corona rules time. 
They have a great outdoor area with a pond populated by many birds, sheep and goats living together as a big happy family. 
They offer many extra services. 
Staff is friendly and accomodating. 

I would certainly stay here again. 

Pleasant stay

The hotel is quietly located just outside the center of De Koog. The welcome was warm with a free cup of coffee. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom is fine. The breakfast is extensive and delicious. Free ample parking What we have experienced as annoying is that it was too hot in the dining room. No further complaints.

Good hotel with spacious rooms

Nice family-run hotel 600 meters from the centre of De Koog with its many restaurants. This was the second time we stayed here, this time in a so-called privilege room which is a bit larger than the ordinary room with a balcony. Breakfast is extensive.

Good hotel

We had booked a five days half board that exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and modern with good facilities. 

Excellent breakfast with different types of bread, cheese and cold meats. Also fresh fruit, scrumbled eggs and bacon, different types of yoghurt and fruit salad. Dinner is a surprise every night, with the three courses providing a satisfied feeling. Meat and fish are served on alternating evenings. I recommend the home brewed beers from Eiland Brouwers Texel. The staff are helpful, interested and nice to deal with.

Excellent hotel with a welcoming atmosphere

With a nice welcome our holidays began. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. 
The staff is friendly and attentive.
The best is still the 3-course surprise dinner. The chef here is the best! 
We look forward to tonight ;-)

Good rest and best food

We arrived early afternoon and were greeted with a complimentary tea and coffee which we had outside on the patio overlooking the fields. We only stayed one night but will be back.  The hotel is beautifully situated in the countryside yet very close to town.  Our room was big and comfortable with all the facilities we needed, including access to the garden.  The evening meal was beautifully prepared and the buffet style breakfast catered for all tastes. The staff were happy for us to leave our car in the car park whilst we had a last cycle before it was time to leave. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Take your bikes and explore Texel

My Dutch other half and I visited for his 65th birthday this week, and had a very enjoyable time, both at the hotel and on Texel as a whole.

The room and facilities were not exceptional, but everything was clean and fresh and the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

The real bonus at this hotel is the food.  

Having purchased a half board option to stay, we were a bit surprised on arrival to be told that there was a very limited choice for dinner  - basically one choice (unless you have food that you can't/wont eat in which case they will accommodate something different).  

However, what food!  How beautifully cooked and superbly presented......

I have always been suspicious of places that offer a huge range of dishes, and Hotel Tatenhoeve proved that doing an extremely limited menu to an exceptional standard is a brilliant idea, not least as we both ate things that we might not normally have tried, but loved!

Breakfast was also fine, but the real star here is the dinner.  Fantastic value and will certainly visit again.
