Nice and clean hotel, close to center and far away enough from center to have a quiet stay.
Walking distance to the woods and beach.

Very friendly staff, very good breakfast.
Till 10 pm you can have some snacks coffee or a Glas of wine 🍷

This well maintained property has a unique feel and homey authenticity. I loved chatting with the friendly and helpful owners and their employees. The location is perfect, just outside the bustling village and close to the dunes and beaches. The breakfast buffet is huge, and also has a nice personal touch. We would have appreciated a fan in the room to keep it cooler.

Local charm and quality rooms

I arrived at this hotel by mistake (wrong door number), and after my terrible experience, I'm very glad this was the wrong hotel after the extremely unpleasant 'welcome' by the owner (an old man) who started by saying I'm late (at 10pm). I then realised I was at the wrong place, said goodbye, and left.

I went back to my car (which was into the car park) with my wife and young son, and the owner started chasing and shouting at us. It seemed he thought we were going to steal a car or something. I explained we had parked in the hotel car park and were just returning to our car.

However, he became extremely abusive and accused us of trespassing. Even his own wife came out and told him he's wrong. Yet he continued to hurl abuse at me and my family, and threatened to call the police. I was wearing a basketball jacket and running trainers, so I'm not sure if he thought I was some dodgy criminal. But he was very offensive and unpleasant, and left me and my family feeling very distressed.

I am glad this was the wrong hotel, and I would not recommend anyone stay there if they want a warm welcome and a pleasant environment to stay in. A very disgusting man indeed.

Nasty treatment by owner due to arriving at wrong hotel

I came here for a 2nd visit in oktober 2017 and oktober 2018. The couple that runs the hotel is very friendly. The breakfast is very divers with fresh fruits, yoghurt, milk and coffee and warm bread.
The prices are very decent and the rooms clean and fresh.

Very nice staff, excellent breakfast and clean rooms

the room is very bigggg with a round bed. i like the sheet on the bed. all the decoration in the room is with thinking behind and unique. there a 2 big armchair... what can i say... this is a room that everyone will be love to stay in!!!,

Amazing Room!

I stayed here and was amazed how nice and friendly this hotel "Het Uilenbos" is. It is located nearby the town centre of De Koog, but in a quiet setting. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good.

Good hotel.

A nice place to stay but not for too long... Everything was very clean though. Breakfast was okay, not very special. Free WiFi and a nice flatscreen TV. I would not necessarily go there again though. People were extremely nice though and recommended places to visit in Texel.

Good

I was very glad to stay in a place with it's own flavor. The room's design is very local. The rooms are clean and with all you need to have a complete stay. 
What I liked most was:
- Authenticity (being in a local place with local people instead of an international boring brand)
- Clean
- Good service
- Fair price
From the hotel you can bike directly to the dunes and is 10 minutes walk from the beach.
