Our friends from Amsterdam booked the Wilhelmina for them and us and we were unsure what to expect. Everything from the warm welcome to the cheery goodbye when we checked out was perfect. We had a lovely spacious room on the ground floor with chairs on the terrace. We had a gorgeous bathroom with bath and shower and lots of space. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing with an enormous choice from cheeses and hams via mashed avocado to bacon and scrambled eggs. The freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit salad were a nice touch too. The rooms were beautifully cleaned every day while we were at breakfast. The hotel is 2 minutes from the beach and the main road in the town. A very enjoyable trip. Thank you. 

A REALLY LOVELY STAY

It is only a few metres to the beach and only slightly further into the small town of Domburg. The location is therefore to be considered as top. It is also quiet if not in the small courtyard the post leaves. Parking is free. Our room on the top floor was excellent; however, there are extremely steep stairs to handle. At breakfast there should also be something for everyone; a combination of buffet and service, especially hot drinks. Any staff contact, whether at check-in or -out or breakfast, is very friendly. We would love to come back to Wilhelmina for a short break.

Top-up to the beach  and downtown

Nice, spacious, clean room in a quiet location equipped with everything you need except the bathroom dryer: totally outdated and the strange night table: a chest with the night light on top without a drawer. But otherwise, we had to book a minibar, WiFi, safe, breakfast in a nearby hotel.

Short-term stays

We booked the hotel by reading some reviews and the pictures with Booking.com. The reviews are good so we reserved the best room and stay 3 nights in the Royal Suite room 101. It was our first time to stay there.

We would like to start with the points  that made our stay comfortable. The hotel provide free parking. It is a short walk to the long beach and to the main city where all the shops and restaurants located. The wifi is fast and stable. We could also work a bit there. The size and the room space are good. You have a big living area with the kitchen. 

But we were disappointed with the maintenance of the Suite. The condition is poor. There are scratches everywhere and does not look clean. You can always see dust or stains at every corner. The Shampoo and Shower Gel bottles in the bathroom were very dirty with stains. The hotel uses the refilled Ritual Product but we did not touch it as we were not sure with the hygiene. The toilet is very small compared to the full size of the bathroom itself. We found it difficult to breath when we close the toilet door. 

The breakfast choices were fine but nothing really special. The service was not really called a service for us. We needed to go to the kitchen to ask for coffee or hot water for the tea. The staffs were always in the kitchen or if you were lucky enough you could ask for something when they were at your presence. We shared this at the desk upon departure and the gentleman at a the desk informed us it was normal here. The gentleman at the breakfast was unfriendly. There was no smile on his face and no greeting at all when we entered the breakfast room . So we decided not to bother him but the ladies were somehow friendly with smiles. 

We were also very surprised with the Safety Box in the Suite. The Safety Box is not fixed at the wall in the closet. You can move a whole safe easily. We informed at the desk and again were informed that all the Safety Box in the hotel is like that. They are not fixed. My husband and I were very shocked and said how it is called a Safety Box if we can take it out from the room. The answer was who would do that. Again another shock. The gentleman at the desk was neutral with all the feedbacks we shared to him. There was no sign of empathetic or understanding the guests. We travel a lot and this was the first hotel we experienced such typically issues. Lucky we did not stay long.

Our experiences at the hotel were from our points of view and personal tastes. We hope the above could be useful of helpful for the travellers who expect the same standards of service like us.

What you see or read in the Internet is not what you get.

The look in the courtyard was like a shaft, I saw only walls, water pipes, a dirty clay roof with water on it, it was totally depressing and the hotel was, of course, booked out, so I didn't have a chance to get another room.

It's a nice little hotel, very close to the beach and very close to the local restaurants, and we were very friendly, the family room was generously cut, and the breakfast confirmed the overall positive impression.

It's a great short trip.

We booked the hotel from 06.12. to 08.12. and arrived late in the afternoon on 06.12.12. The hotel was orphaned. A bell rang after a long waiting time for an employee. The breakfast room was locked, you had to go to a nearby hotel for breakfast against the booked service. This was only discovered at check-in and we left again after a discussion (you can always do this in autumn and winter). However, the hotel charged our credit card with the full amount. Here I would have expected the hotel to show cooling. If I don't provide a service, I can inform my customers BEFORE! This didn't happen.

It's not a shame.

Very nice small charming hotel. Very comfortable bed and super clean place. Coffee machine and water in the room. If you have trouble with the stairs ask for a room in the RC because the staircase is a bit steep. Very good breakfast with lots of choice. Finally great location, near the city center and the very beautiful beach!

All right, all right.

We stayed at the hotel for a week, and this time we had a standard room. It was so small that we had to balance the suitcase over the bed. The bathroom was okay in size, but unfortunately not clean. When I complained about this, the bathroom was immediately cleaned. The breakfast is delicious and varied. If you have a room in the courtyard, it is very nice, but you can hear the guests early in the morning or late. We had a room between two smokers and we had to share their pleasure whether we like it or not. The hotel is in a good location and is quiet. The staff is very friendly.

Nice hotel coming to years

The rooms are very large, a wind-proof, dark courtyard invites you to stay. The beach-side location is great and even the small centre with its numerous restaurants and shops is just a cat's-eye. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast with freshly pressed sauce and many small delicacies is unparalleled.
