Delightfully situated b&b in the small village of Elp close to forests, walking and cycling trails and managed by a daughter and mother team who make you feel most welcome. The rooms are in a very creatively redesigned old barn with all modern comforts, wifi, tv etc. The breakfasts are included and are wholesome and healthy oroviding a great start to the day. A highly recommended place to stay

Wonderfully welcome and comfortable b&b in rural Drenthe

Stayed in this B&B for two nights and enjoyed the luxury room with shower and the pleasant and friendly owners. Good breakfast, free wifi in a quiet environment. Its a former farmhouse rebuild into a modern B&B. Recommended!

Great stay at this B&B

The Vijf Suites was such a treat.  I travel a lot for work and for fun and this charming converted barn was an oasis of calm in a lovely village in a beautiful part of The Netherlands.  We stayed in suite 2 and enjoyed the huge bath and comfy bed after our long days exploring the countryside by bike and car.   The location is perfect for seeing the Westerbork Memorial, Ovelte, Giethoorn (about 30 min away), the Hondenrug route (hunebed/dolmen rock monuments), and all sorts of other little lovely villages.  There are loads of things to see and do.

The breakfast was just wonderful - fresh-baked croissants (that you can smell as you're waking up!), breads, jams, local meats and cheeses, fruit, speciality coffees and teas, and fresh orange juice.  So delicious - no need to eat lunch!  I'd love to visit for high tea sometime - I know it would be amazing.

The hostess was also lovely and welcoming.  The rooms and property were exceptionally clean and well-kept. Overall a great experience and would return without a doubt.

A Heavenly Oasis

We spent a few nights at The Five Suites ("De Vijf Suites") a few weeks ago, fulfilling our desire for a relaxing weekend away from Amsterdam in the Dutch countryside. The area where the B&B is located is one that we've never been to as Dutchies ourselves, and despite the cold and grey weather we definitely had a great time hiking and visiting medieval places nearby.

The family-run bed and breakfast is a treasure: not only it sits in an old, renovated farm; the whole place breaths timeless design, luxury, and an eagle eye for detail. All 5 rooms look completely different but have the same level of luxury and coziness. There's a sauna and a library even, both we did not make use of unfortunately. Breakfast is one of the best I have ever had, with many home made or local made products. Service is honest, open and warm. Just go there if you have the chance!

Unexpected treasure in the Dutch countryside

We spent 3 nights at this B&B at the beginning of August and loved it.  We arrived in the afternoon in glorious weather 35 degrees (a little too hot!).  This is a family run B&B and the whole family were so friendly, you just relaxed immediately.  We were shown to our Suite (No. 2) which was upstairs.  The old farm steading has recently been converted into a luxury, modern home and B&B and to us they have made a lovely job of it.  We settled in and then headed out on our bikes to enjoy the great weather and the countryside.  When we came back later in the evening we sat outside in the terrace which too was just lovely and relaxing.  The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept on and we had a great nights sleep, even in the hot conditions.
We had our breakfast each morning on the terrace, the breakfast consisted of local produce, cheeses and hams, air dried beef, salamis, fresh fruits, homemade preserves, bread, pastries etc.  They took great pride in making our experience an enjoyable one.  They said we were the first British guests to stay with them since the open, I think about 6+ months ago.
