It was a pleasure to be there, to enjoy the amazing dinner, the hospitality of the staff and the nice stay at one of the rooms. The Lindenhof is based in a beautiful area of the Netherlands, very calm so a perfect place to relax. The hotel and the restaurant are both decorated very nice and the atmosphere is very relaxing. All the staff was just great and you feel they enjoy making your time at the Lindenhof a very special one.
The dinner was very good (some of the veggies/herbs came from the own garden), wine perfectly matched with the course. The next morning you get a breakfast you will not forget soon. 
Definitely we will come back to this beautiful place. 

Amazing diner, even more amazing breakfast in a lovely place

Location: Quiet, not in the center of Giethoorn but this is not a big town - so it won't matter unless you're one of these entitled tourists who expect an Uber at the snap of your fingers (like one of the reviewers below). 

Hotel: Are you here for the food? Then it's TOTALLY WORTH IT. Do yourself a favour and take the breakfast, you won't be disappointed. My only nitpick is that they should replace the Nespresso with an Italian espresso machine and serve real coffee to complement the exquisite food.

Room: Not that big but cozy and well-appointed. Comfortable beds.

Service: Friendly, hospitable and easygoing. We had dinner served in our room while we were there because of restrictions but it was still a wonderful experience.

Spectacular foodie getaway

Usually, perfection does n’t need much explanation. Though sometimes, 2 or 3 star restaurants make it ‘over the top’ with a presentation or a combination that seems to be inspired by a modern artist, and not by a ‘cook’ that makes excellent meals. In the Lindenhof, the accent is on the taste, the combination of ingredients. Creative? Yes, definitely. But aimed at a ‘taste perfection’. And that’s what it is. 
We booked a lunch for a special occasion. And perfection it was. We always order the wine pairing, since no single bottle matches all the tastings. It - was - perfect. 
We learned that there is a 24 hour with Martin!! Let’s go berserk. lunch / dinner/ breakfast at the Lindenhof 🤪🤪That will be our next order at the Lindenhof. CU soon !!

Pragmatic perfection 

Without doubt one of the best experiences we have ever had on a short break. Accommodation is fantastic, hotel small and extremely intimate with some of the best gardens you will ever see set In the idyllic village of Giethoorn. Bedrooms extremely well appointed and luxurious. 
That then brings us onto the food! The 6 course tasting menu contained some of the best dishes we have ever tasted, red mullet, zander, pigeon and the sweet were on a different level. The wine matching was extremely good and reasonably priced for such quality. Staff hugely professional and Martin chef patron and Marjan front of house were fantastic.

The breakfast was almost as good as dinner! We will be back soon.

Outstanding

This small restaurant/ hotel feels so authentic. The staff is a pleasure. The room suite is spacious. When we arrived there was a hot spell so the bedroom was warm. The staff and owners were conscientious to ensure our comfort. The food is outstanding. There are only a few rooms available. The garden is beautiful.

Old world charm.

Last week we stayed at De Lindenhof with dinner and breakfast which was a very nice experience.  We enjoyed the hospitality, everyone was extra nice doing everything possible to make your stay an enjoyable and memorable one.  We had the boat tour in the afternoon when we arrived.  It was perfect in every way.  The chef and owner of the boat and hotel was very nice we had wonderful conversation with him and he tried to let us know all about Giethoorn which is the most gorgeous place.  Dinner was outdoors and very special.  Some of the dishes were so tasty I wished for seconds.
Breakfast was just as special as dinner.  We enjoyed to the fullest, everything and everyone.  Thank you very much for very special 24 hours.  We definitely want to come back.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

Excellent star restaurant in nice old farm, beautiful setting, excellent food. We had a lunch and it started with five small amuses and a small soup: all small pictures 
to see. The two main courses, fish and duck, were of excellent taste and the deserts were superb!

Lunch

The room itself are made out of old German type cottage where rooms are claustrophobic triangular in shape, with only one window. The location itself is remote not public transportation. The nearest infrequent bus stop is about 1.5 miles away. No UBER comes by. One UBER, that I took from train station, the guy told me this area is for old retired people.

The place itself calls it to be Bed and Breakfast place. The owner charges you for the breakfast. Horrible greediness at that.

The wi-fi service is a completely different thing. In this day and age poor wi-fi connection is just not acceptable. Having widely traveled around the world. I thought that the wi-fi is a guaranteed thing. For me since I was traveling I had no phone and depended on wi-fi to communicate with everyone. Because of no wi-fi I was completely shut out. When I complained about it, the owner said its working for him in his room, which is in a different building. I asked him if I can change to the room which has wi-fi, he said there are no room available. He lied to me as I was the only person in the whole premises. I asked him to come and I can show him that there was no wi-fi signal. At which point he cut of all communications with me. The owner's attitude was horrendous! UGGH!

Shared bath is closed off to you if someone else is using it. No very convenient either.

This place has lot of issues for me. I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

Most Awful Experience EVER!

I have had a horrendous experience with this hotel. The website is in Dutch understandably so, but the English translation didn't work so when I booked the hotel I checked prices of add ons I wanted to consider. The hotel were only too happy to give me prices of things such a £195 hour boat ride with picnic but when I'd ask what it included I would get quite blunt replies. I asked for an invoice for my records and was told I ask "too many things" and they were going to cancel my reservation. The owner Marjan actually emailed me at 10pm on a Saturday evening stating that. I had booked this place for my partners birthday surprise and was naturally very worried and upset as I believe it is a customers right to clarify costs and ask for an invoice especially as it's not cheap. 

This hotel was recommended to me but purely based on service I would never advise anyone to go there unless you're happy coughing up for this that and the next that they add on, without questioning it. What was meant to be a super chilled out break left a sour taste in my mouth.
