Herberg ’t Zwaantje is a restaurant located in the Groesbeek forrest next to the Mookerheide and offers, besides 7 rooms, breakfast, lunch, drinks and dinner. Cuisine is typical bourgeois Dutch. Don’t expect fine dining. You dine inside or, weather depending, at the terrace. Service is friendly and attentive.

We came on a rainy weekday and the spacious restaurant was busy but not full, a good sign. We saw that the establishment holds the title ‘Purveyor to the Royal Court’.

We had Grodino as apéritif and went for Plaice Fillet à la Meunière with vegetables and fries accompanied by a glass of Pay’s d’Oc Chardonnay and a glass of Pino Grigio. The food was well presented and tasty. The fries were average. We ended with French coffee & Graham’s Port.

When you fancy good food, restaurant ‘t Zwaantje is the place for you. Recommended.

Good bourgeois Dutch food

After our walk in the Mokerheide area we choose to take a coffee break on the terrace of restaurant het Zwaantje. The terrace is very inviting, the ambiance is cosy and the furniture comfortable 5/5. The service is friendly, flexible and efficient 5/5. We ordered coffee, spice cake and meat sandwitch with fried egg. 4/5 The location at the border of the forest as well as the food quality are perfect to spend leisure time.

A cosy tasty coffee break in the forrest

After visiting the Heilige Landstichting nearby we stopped at this restaurant/motel. Packed with people outside on the terras. Lucky to get a spot. Had coffee and a hearthy broodje and others had a kroket. Well worth a visit in the beautiful Mookerheide area.

A gathering place for walkers and bikers.

Beautiful restaurant just outside of Mook Limburg on the top of the Mookerheide. on the road from Mook to Groesbeek, great for a cup of coffee and cake after an nice walk or bike tour trough the forrest.

Great restaurant

We booked for 2 nights on a trip to visit the nearby war cemeteries. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The accommodation was modern and spotless (our room, La Mer, had a jacuzzi type bath in addition to the large shower) and as well as flat screen TV it also had air conditioning. Located on the edge of a beautiful forest it is ideal for cycling, hiking and nature walks. Bikes can also be hired from the hotel. The restaurant and food was faultless and the staff courteous and efficient. Breakfast was included in the price and was enormous, highly recommended. We enjoyed it so much we stayed on an extra night. Will definitely go back.

Top quality at reasonable cost

I recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at this wonderful restaurant / pub / hotel.  The owner, Richard, was fantastic.  I have to say the service and quality of food was absolutely top notch, at a very fair price.
If you find yourself in the area make point of stopping in, I can’t wait to go back.
