Ekelrade is a lovely village in Limburg set in beautiful countryside, and close to Maastricht. De Melkfabriek is a very fine Bed and Breakfast - lovely rooms, including communal rooms - and an excellent breakfast. 

Very good B&B naar Maastricht

The place was nice, but when we arrived we were given a room with a shared bathroom - not what I booked!  I wouldn't haven't have stayed there but I felt I had no choice as it was 7pm on a Saturday night.  I paid cash for 2 nights - my mistake as I wasn't happy about the room and I made that very clear.  my friend and I stayed the night, but when we went to take a shower the next morning, there was some mens underwear left in the bathroom!  We decided to check out after one night, but the owner didn't want to reimburse me the 2nd nights stay which we weren't staying there for!  After numerous calls and messages to Booking.com (who we booked thru); the owner finally agreed to reimburse me 50% of the second night.  I felt this wasn't fair as I didn't get the accommodation I booked;  however there was nothing else I could do.  I eventually received the 50% refund via bank transfer today - over one month after we stayed at the property.  I wasted so much time sending e-mails and making calls to sort this out - not to mention the phone calls at the time and having to find other accommodation in Maastricht - such a shame when I only had 2 nights in Maastricht which was a lovely place!

Disappointing visit

Me and my Dad stayed for two nights for the Andre Rieu concert. We were warmly greeted and served coffee and biscuits on the beautiful terrace and slept in a very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent- wide choice of cereals, fruit, breads, freshly pressed orange juice, meats, cheeses etc and for me as a vegetarian plenty from which to choose. Resi is welcoming and her staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! Excellent and enjoyable stay!! 

Friendly and welcoming

Spend two nights at this wonderfull B&B, about 8 km out of Maastricht. The bathroom and restroom were both shared between two rooms but I am used to that setup and both the bathroom and restroom were spacious and had everything  you need. The gym like showers were new to me but it works. The room I had was in the old cellar and that was nice and cool, which I like. There is a shared deck, breakfast room and great room for all the guests but that all works out fine. I really was surprised how excellent and slightly luxurious the breakfast was. It was great though. There was parking for a few cars on the property, provided that you can turn your car there because the outdoor space is only slightly wider than a normal countryside road. Internet worked fine, there was also plenty of good advice where to eat, drink or just to enjoy the scenery. All in all a good place, the price is a bit high for a B&B but you get a lot for that.
