quiet location with nice garden around, very friendly service, excellent rich breakfasts, nice and cozy design, clean, comfortable room with fully equipped kitchen, owners behave very friendly to pets (our dog), very good wifi (usable even in the garden),  hotel situated 50 meters from bike rental, relatively close to the sea (esp. by bike), next to excellent restaurant, close from cheaper refreshment stand

Small but cozy hotel run by wonderful people. Rooms are clean, location is perfect and there is an extremely varied breakfast buffet which is worth getting up early for.
The town centre is nearby and the hotel itself lies on the edge of an forest with lovely cycle routes.

Last september, we have stayed 5 days at Claes-Compaen. 
Klaas and Harmie were very friendly and helpful hosts.
The room was nice, clean and has a little terrace.
Breakfast-buffet was good (every day some specialities). You could eat the breakfast in the kitchen of the room (of outside if the weather is fine).
The hotel was beautiful decorated with objects, referring to the sea.

This hotel was situated in Midsland, and this village is the best location for exploring the Terschelling-island. Becaust it is in the center of the island, the walking or biking distances were not too far. Next to the hotel, there was a shop where you could rent the bikes.

In the neighboorhood, there were very good restaurants (Mexican, Dutch, Irish, Italian) .
We have enjoyed our stay in Terschelling.
