Hotel Ameland

We had a good location, everything was very easy to reach. The rooms and the hotel were in good condition even at the end of the summer. We felt very comfortable. The service was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and everything was always fresh. We could always start off on a relaxed day.

We had a great time at the Hotel Ameland and enjoyed our vacation.

From check-in to check-out, the staff was always very kind and helpful. The reception was always busy and a beer at the bar was served quickly. Coffee and freshly pressed orange juice were prepared quickly every morning, the sausage and cheese selection was a little weak and always the same. The room was generous with a large bathroom.

Unfortunately, we had the impression that the staff were stressed and somewhat annoyed by requests, which may be the time of year, but not necessarily. Only a young employee was always friendly and effortful at night. Basically, I could recommend the hotel, but I'd like to be more kind the next time. The breakfast room was initially so full of tables and chairs that it was a little unpleasant to interrupt other guests through the breakfast buffet all the time in the morning, but on the second day it was a little pleasant because a table was removed.

Service and Kindness

The hotel is clean and has everything you need. The bathroom is barrier-free. We had rooms with balcony. Breakfast is rich. There are a lot of bicycles or e-bikes to rent right in the hotel. But you can better book e-bikes at Kiev right at the port. Then you are independent and can also drop off the bicycles there when you leave.

The weekend

The rooms and bathrooms are quite large, furnished with everything you need. Unfortunately, you can only open a small opening at the window, which is too little at warm temperatures. The breakfast is excellent, the staff is extremely kind and helpful. The Gazelle rental bikes are top-notch.

Pleasant atmosphere

We spent four lovely days with six adults at Ameland and stayed at the Hotel Ameland. The rooms were of pleasant size and beautiful furnishings. We were enthusiastic about the spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. A rich breakfast and friendly staff made the stay perfect for us. We are happy to come back!

Great place to stay

The hotel room was very large and clean. The equipment was good (reasonable TV, wlan, etc.) bicycle rental simple, and technically in order. The breakfast had everything the heart desired (cut, cheese, cereal, yogurt, fruit, buns, bread, coffee for waving, eggs, stir-fry, etc.) The service/ staff was friendly

Clean hotel with good breakfast

Hotel Ameland is ideally situated in the village of Nes: from the hotel you are within a 10 minutes' walk either on the beach or at the small and historic village center. 
Nes is also where also the ferry departs/arrives. With the bus it is only 10 minutes to the busstop near the hotel. 

We stayed 3 nights in Hotel Ameland (hotel arrangement via Travelbird). Our stay included breakfast, free bicycle rent for 2 days and coupons for a few restaurants on the island. 

We had room located at the front/streetside of the hotel. It was clean and equipped with TV, telephone and good beds. The bathroom had a toilet, shower cabin (with good shower beam!) and hair dryer. 

Breakfast buffet was not extensive but adequate to have a good breakfast. They offer coffee/tea, fresh baked bread and hard buns and also some local specialties like 'Suikerbrood' (sugared bread: recommended to try!). Some cheeses, ham and boiled and scrambled eggs, yoghurt (plain or fruit yoghurt), muesli/corn flakes and fresh fruit.

You can rent bicycles directly at the hotel. The hotel lounge/bar is small but friendly service. Free WiFi throughout the whole hotel (very good connection) 
The staff is very welcoming and helpful.

Overall we had a pleasant, comfortable and quiet stay at the hotel. We surely would return in the future. But if you are looking for more luxury and/or facilities you better look for another hotel.

As for value for your money: this is fine.
On the website hotel is mentioned that in 2012 the hotel was awarded by Michelin for "Bib Hotel" which stands for having an overnight stay for a reasonable price.

Another thing you should know: pets are not allowed

Nice hotel near the beach

The hotel is located at the end of Nes. The beach is only ten minutes' walk away, as well as the centre. The rooms are pleasantly large and nicely decorated. The bathroom is also large enough. Overall it is very clean. The breakfast is standard, but everything is fresh and it is filled in time. The staff is very friendly and makes every effort to do everything possible. A bicycle rental is right in the hotel.

Comfortable, friendly and clean!

Stayed here for 3 days and, as the weather was quite nasty, we spent a bit more time in the room than we normally would have, but that wasn't so bad. Besides the extremely comfortable beds there were comfy chairs, TV with lots of channels, free and very fast Wifi, and not to forget an enormous bathroom/shower, everything very clean and neat. For the nicer weather there is a little balcony to sit on. Beach, dunes and recreation area at a few minuted walk. Bike rental possible. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, dinner could be had at the restaurant around the corner, or at 10 minutes walk in the village, where there is plenty choice. People were very friendly and helpful. Admittedly we stayed in a quiet season, so we didn't notice much about noise and would go back there without hesitation
