This family run hotel is ideal for  your trip to Ameland. Although slap bang in the middle of Nes its amazingly quiet set in its own gardens with nice views out to Holwerd from the window of the room given. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh and set you up for the day.
The rooms are rather dated, but spotlessly clean, and bathroom has been upgraded. 
The swimming pool is a touch on the cold side, but OK once you got moving around. The water was rather odd, it appears rather cloudy, but was assured that it was OK. I used it every day with no ill effects anyway.There is a sun terrace attached to the pool and I guess on a nice sunny day that it is very pleasant with the patio doors rolled back. Unfortunately the weather wasnt good enough for that during my stay.
Recommend the food at De Klimop which is the restaurant connected to the hotel also.
Well worth the money.

Excellent for your Ameland break

This family hotel has been visited by me more then once. At first I simply picked a hotel on the Island, the second and third time I went back to Hofker, very much on purpose!

The owner and family are very friendly and have a great memory, my second trip there was 5 years after my first and I just walked in. They remembered my name :-)

The quiet location in combination with the fact that you are on an Island makes this the perfect getaway for city-dwelling people like me. Walks on the beach or through the dunes or one of the many (but not too many) little restaurant or bars in Nes make this Hotel a place I will definately return to.

Great Family Hotel in a quiet village

This hotel is quite near to the ferry (10min walk) and right in the center where you have all sorts of restaurants and shops etc. Location wise its perfect. The room we stayed in was also good. It had a balcony and  was quite refreshing to have some sun :)

The breakfast had good choices but not great. There is still room for improvements like introducing more varieties. I will however point out that the breads seem to be freshly baked and were of good taste.

On the downside, the room felt a bit small and you can hear people moving in the corridor. Not a big issue though.

Overall we had a really great time staying at Ameland and also at this hotel.



A relaxing, cute place

This is a great hotel! We have been coming here for decades, every year again and sometimes twice.  If you are tired of all your business trips in chain hotels, this is the place to relax with your family and enjoy genuine attention from the hotel owners.  A very comfortable, clean and cosy place on an island that is part of the Wadden Sea, Unesco World Heritage.

We are staying with the hofker hotel for many years. fantastic location in centre of Nes. Nice staff, great and clean rooms, swimming pool and sauna is very nice. Can recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful island of Ameland

we have been here for many years and will be in thet future!

this hotel was the worst i've ever been to except russian ones. i never even expected from family dutch hotel such inhospitality and impudence. they canceled one of singles we reserved without any excuse and i had to stay with a friend in one single which later was charged as a double. when i asked about that, i was sent to one very faraway place by personeel. i had to ask for a soap, breakfasts were poor, sauna was open till 8 because they did not want to work longer (just for information - if you come to ameland in summer, at 8 you are just back from a beach, had a dinner, and ready to had a sauna) i also remeber only one! smile from all the people during my stay. so, if someone wants to go to ameland and spoil your vacation and impression of this gourgeous island - go to hofker, they are the best :)
