Stayed here for one night whilst on a business trip as usual hotel was fully booked due to walking festival being on in this week . Reception is basic but very helpfull and room on secound floor facing city was good size clean comfy beds wifi good shower good bathroom is small though . 

Location is excellent right in town a little noisey in evening but not bad and festival was on . No life so you have to bring your cases up . Breakfast basic cold food but plentiful overall not bad stay if you want a basic clean hotel room central with air con

Not Bad Hotel

Stayed for one night in Apollo hotel, which is very centrally located in the old city centre and close to public transport in Nijmegen. The hotel interiors appeared rather dull and run down, room was basic and old fashioned, however facilities were working.  Breakfast service was uneventful.

The young man in the lobby had this “laissez-faire” vibe but all good. The check-in time should be updated though because when we went to our room staff was still busy cleaning it. We waited another 10min before we could enter. Not a big deal but you’d expect the rooms to be ready well before guests arrive. “Laissez-faire” attitude applies to all the staff members, perhaps? 

The room was big. The pillows sooo comfortable. The bathroom was a bit weird with metal tubes sticking out and the shower hose being way too short to properly take a shower but it worked. 

They also leave earbuds next to your bed. I should have used them because I could hear the upstairs neighbours were CONSTANTLY moving around at night. The next morning we were standing in line to check out. Then some pretentious oaf (and his +1) sees us and cuts the line despite looking at us and knowing that we were there first. 

Probably the same noisy jerk that was keeping us up. Of course the hotel has nothing to do with this. 

Apart from that we had a nice time in Nijmegen. 

PS: there is no elevator. 


Big room, great location 

Yes, I visited The Apollo Hotel during the Plague of 2020, so I cannot comment upon many things that one would typically comment upon. I wish I could comment on the breakfast or some other bits about the hotel but I cannot. I can say, however, that the location is the best. It's about a 5 minute walk to the train station and the hotel is already located in the old city center, so the location could not be any better. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in....mostly because I was the ONLY person staying there during my 5 days and the staff went home in the early evening, so I had the hotel to myself. The hotel was very clean and provided everything that I wanted or needed. Nijmegen is a wonderful city and when I visit there again, I will definitely book my stay at The Apollo Hotel again.

Visited during the Plague of 2020

A short stay with my dad. Cheap cheerful clean. V friendly and v helpful staff. Close to train station, shopping and lots of lovely restaurants.
Free tea coffee in room and reception area and lovely continental breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Pleasantly surprised

Centrally located hotel: 10,minutes walk from station, right next to shopping street, lots of restaurants nearby.
Huge room with small hallway where separate toilet (very modern) is situated. Bathroom small, but adequate: triangular shower stall with good jet and plenty of hot water. Handbasin with 2 drawers underneath, mirror & shelf; hairdryer; proper towel rack.
Bedroom itself has seating area, big desk and plenty of room to walk round. Two boxspring beds, comfortable matress, pillow not so good.
Breakfast is served in the small lobby. Given that the space is not big, there is quite a good selection at the breakfast buffet. Cereals, different types of bread, various cut meats and cheeses, loads of the sweet stuff the Dutch love so much. Fruit juice from a carton and tinned fruit. Coffee machine and teabag selection.

Excellent independent hotel, centrally located

Our room was spacious, clean and at the back of the hotel so it was quiet during the night. Lots of place to put all our belongings, big cupboard to hang up clothes. Free WiFi. As it it central you can walk to see the historical sights. Breakfast is a buffet and has all that you would like. 

Good simple hotel 

Had to go on a last minute emergency. Great hotel. Staff and owners fantastic, friendly and helpful. Called a cab whenever needed but as far as shopping and looking around everything was within walking distance. Close to train and downtown, Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean . I would go here again.

Last minute great place to stay

This is a simpele hotel with no airconditioning. Clean rooms , quiet. Parking at about 250m in the parking garage Keizer Karel (not expensive). The receptionist is nice and adequate. Breakfast is simpel but enough. The station is nearby. 
Nice restaurants also on walking distance.

One night at Nijmegen

To all those other reviewers...you get what you pay for.  You want all the fancy amenities...pay 2-3 times more.  This was a basic very centrally located hotel.  Friendly staff.  Super quite.  Hotel was kinda empty when we stayed and that could be why it was so quite.  They do shut down in the late hours so you do need your room key to enter.  Basic breakfast.  Rooms dated but clean.  Remember if you want better see note above about the amenities.  Car park just 10 min walk down street.
